I know it's not really meant for this but would it be big enough to store a PC and video game consoles?

It depends on the size of the PC case but probably yes. I have placed a small backup server and battery backup along with switch and patch panel, it will hold a lot of weight if mounted correctly. It is about 2 feet tall inside.

Does the SmartRack 12 U cabinet have vertical mounting rails in the front and back of the enclosure?

Accepted Answer

Yes it does have normal rails so you can mount a shelf or network equipment directly to the vertical rails.  It only has rails in the front.

Question 3

Would I be able to fit a cable manager inside if the manager sticks out a little past 3" from the rails? How much space is there max?

Accepted Answer

You can if you move the rails back in the front.  Unless your equipment is really deep, you should be able to move the front rails back and install your cable manager without difficultly.  I did it with tripp lite cable managers and they originally stuck out about an inch too far.  Moved the rails back one peg and all was well.  My patch panels, switches, router, and UPS all installed with plenty of room behind them.
