Love it!
Pros: I had owned a ThinkPad for years and never paid much attention to the whole laptop industry. When the ThinkPad died, I looked around and this Inspiron 15R caught my eye. The price/performance was well within my budget and it actually offered much more horsepower than I was expecting to find. I have been very impressed with the function and quality of this Dell product. The color depth of the display is better than my $200 desktop displays. I don't see any way someone would not be impressed with this laptop.
Cons: The keyboard trim is a silver mirror finish and is somewhat of a fingerprint magnet. It does run warm when gaming, (not unexpected considering they stuffed an Intel I5 in a laptop) so a laptop "chill mat" would be a good addition to keep the heat down.
Overall Review: Not clogged up with much of the junk programs that come on so many laptops. Comes with 6 months of free McAfee. Not my favorite, but the price is right for 6 months while I learn my way around Windows 7.
A Good Value
Pros: Small, convenient and a great value
Cons: None
Overall Review: A good value. Buy a few and put them around the house and workplace to keep the cell phone charged.
Impressed
Pros: Very quiet and I was pleasently surprised that it has a very "quality" look.
Cons: I have concerns in the power cable entry located on the back is subject to abuse. It would help if entry to the chassis were recessed or even better went in through the open side.
