Question 1

Numerous people are saying this is not compatible with high profile ram. What is the clearance on this with the fans in proper orientation? What is considered 'high profile'? I have 4 sticks of Trident Z, for example. The Heatspreader on these are 37.3mm tall.

Accepted Answer

The cooler itself won't block the RAM, but the fans themselves will definitely block the Trident Z if applied before installing the RAM. I had the exact same ram for my system, I simply installed the RAM and placed the fans higher up the cooler so that the bottom of the fan rested on the top of the RAM. Cooling performance will be slightly affected, but not by a significant margin.

Question 2

I'm planning on purchasing X399 Asus ROG Zenith Extreme motherboard w/ this cooler.  However. I'm concerned this cooler may block the DIMM slots.  I've already purchased Corsair Dominator Platinum.  Will this cooler fit w/ the Corsair DIMMs on the Asus motherboard?

I had a problem with the fans blocking the closest DIMM slots on each side. Because the fans just clip onto the radiator, I had to move the fans up about 0.5". There's still plenty of air flow through the radiator, though. You'll need to attach the fans after you insert the RAM, but, as I said, it's an easy clip-on process.

Question 3

Would G.Skill Aegis DDR4 2x8gb (f4-3000c16d-16gisb) fit on the ASROCK X399 Phantom Gaming 6 Motherboard using this cooler?

Hi Bonnie, yes and no. it will not perfectly fit with ram and fans. if you are only using the 2 sticks of ram then yes it will look the the picture. i have all 8 sticks of ram in mine and i had to slightly move my fans up so they are not touching the sticks of ram. but not by much. I have not seen any performance issues by not having the fans set like the picture.
