No Bracket, you can put it in anyway you want.  Very easy to find a bay it will fit in.

Question 2

Besides price, what are the Reactor's advantages against  the Samsung 1 TB 850 Evo?

I have both the Samsung 850 and the Mushkin Reactor and there is no "real world" advantage of one over the other (Mushkin Reactor over Samsung 850)... Mushkin, although not as well known as Samsung, has specialized in "high end" memory (Mushkin and Corsair used to be the "premier" sources for memory) for years (since 1994) and is a well respected company located in Colorado... The Reactor is a great drive at a great price  ... you won't be disappointed!

Question 3

Does this SSD come with any software to transfer existing windows setup onto the new drive?

Mine did not, the only thing in the package was the SSD. There are better options for cloning a drive than any manufacturer specific cloners. Just use the free version of Macrium Reflect, that will work just fine. It is a great little SSD, I wish I hadn't waited so long to get my rig off of a platter drive.

Can you use this for desktop pc?

Yes, this will work in a desktop PC utilizing standard SATA cables\connectors.  But note this is  2.5" drive and most  desktop PC Hard Drives are 3.5" in size. So you might need a drive adapter (perform a search on Newegg for "3.5 2.5 drive adapter" ) .  I installed this SSD into my home desktop and it has increased it's performance tremendously. Both boot times and application loads have benefited (which is the point of utilizing SSD drives).

Question 5

I know that this SSD does not come with a cloning tool (such as Samsung's Clonix powered data migration tool). Mushkin recommends the free version of Partition Wizard on its support site. What's the (preferably free) tool you used to migrate an existing HDD to this SSD?

I personally use Acronis True Image software to do my cloning.  It is not that much and also provide backup capabilities.  The software is very easy to use and even allows for USB connections.  I connect my SSD in an external usb case and select the source and the destination and after the computer restarts it clones my OS to the new drive.  Swap the new drive with the old drive and you are good to go.  Although this is one way of doing this, but if you old drive has dump files or any other issues the cloning process will copy those issues to the new drive.  If at all possible install the new drive and re-install the os from scratch.  You will see a great increase in start up speed.  After I installed my drive and did a complete re-install my system was only taking about 13 seconds from the time i pressed the power button and the system was fully up.  Now depending on the age of your system and other factors you may not see the same, but the SSD will increase the speed of your PC.  Hope this helps.

This SSD did not include a carriage (an extra mounting tray) or SATA cable.  It has four threaded holes at the bottom and on its sides for mounting in a typical 2.5 inch HD carriage used in laptops or a floppy drive carriage in a desktop computer case(s).

WILL THIS 1B SSD WORK WELL WITH MY MACBOOK PRO- mid 2010 model?

Hardware-wise, if it supports SATA III and has the space in the enclosure, then it will work.  However, OS X "Yosemite" does not fully support  third-party SSDs.  A new security feature called kernel extension signing, introduced in "Mavericks" and fully implemented in "Yosemite," prevents the operating system from loading the TRIM driver, an important piece of software to help promote the longevity of SSDs, unless the driver is signed by Apple.  The SSD will still format and handle the installation of OS X, and it will boot.  But without TRIM, the SSD will lose capacity over time and will have a much shorter lifespan than What it would have with TRIM.

I know it's backwards compatible, but what SATA do I have, and until I get my new motherboard will I see a difference compared to my crappy HDD?  TYIA

Yes, you'll notice a difference.  It's not usually the bus speed that's slowing you down, it's the read/write speed of the disk, and this disk reads and writes faster.  You'll boot noticeably faster, applications will open slightly faster, etc.

As to your ports, you wrote it above.

SATA Ports 1-2 are 6Gb/s which is SATA 3.0
SATA Ports 3-6 are 3GB/s which is SATA 2.0
SATA Ports 7-8 dunno

You also have external SATA ports on the back, dunno speed.

If you really care about ports 7-8 or eSATA, try google searching.  But if ports 1 or 2 aren't connected to anything, just use one of those, or if both are already used, move something that you don't care so much about from there to one of the other sata ports.

Question 9

I would like to use this as my Main drive on my Alienware Alpha would it be a good choice?

I got a smaller ssd for my mother's aging computer to help speed it up and its done good. I got a Samsung ssd for my laptop because it was getting slow to. I feel the software that comes with the Samsung is worth the extra dollars. the Muskin ssd comes with no support software. Yes, windows 7 and above comes with trim built in, but you have to trust that its working.

Is this compatible with the new Dell Precision 15(3510/7510)? anyone know?

It should be compatible with the 3510, which has the more-or-less standard SATA 3 interface and form factor.  I don't have a Precision, but I have a different Dell, where I did similar surgery.  I actually used a 512G Mushkin drive, but that shouldn't matter.  The new drive works great.  You'll need to get some disk cloning software to transfer your old drive to this one.  There's free stuff out there to do this.  Google is your friend.

This drive won't work with the 7510, which has the newer, smaller, and faster M.2 form factor and interface, so this drive won't fit.
