Do i need am AM3+ Board for this or will an AM3 work?

The R9 isn't a CPU, it's a graphics card so it's based on your motherboards PCI Express # not your motherboards CPU type. As long as you have a 2.0 x 16 it should be fine.

Hi I'm relatively new to the custom pc world and I've been enjoying all the help Newegg has to offer but there are some questions that only users can answer fully. I would very much appreciate the help.

How much power is needed for this particular card?

Are there any sizing issues I should be aware of when installing?

Does temperature become an issue even if it isn't overclocked?

The card itself will pull around 170 watts max at stock clock speeds.

This card is relatively small compared to larger cards years ago, I do recommend measuring quick if you have a small case. I have had no issues fitting this card into numerous mid tower cases.

It's a pretty cool running card, so long as you have decent air flow through your case, there isn't much to worry about. (Keep your case and heatsinks clean from dust)

Does the code for BF4 come inside the box? Or is it shipped separately by Newegg?

Inside the box is a card that you scratch off for a code to redeem at amd's website. The card includes instructions on how to redeem the code.

Can you run three monitors with this?

Absolutely. You could even go up to six. But be advised that you will likely need an adaptor unless you are really lucky with the plugs on your monitors.

Yes Gregory you can. The Radeon actually seems to work great in tandem with my AMD 8 core.  Its a great card and plays BF4 On all high settings without breaking a sweat.

Is it possible to fit this in a PCI-E (1.x) slot?
I heard that it was on another site but I need confirmation.
I do realize that if it does fit it will lower the performance of the card by about 10-15%.

Also, my motherboard is only 2.0 PCI EXPRESS NOT a 3.0. Can I install this kind of video card?

Yes PCI Express 2.0 is backwards compatible with PCI Express 3.0 as long as you have a PCI Express 2.0 slot available on your MOBO you will be able to run this card no problem. For now there is no performance increases or decreases with PCI 3.0 but there might be in the future (speculation/Theory)

The system requirements of this card say that it needs a 500W power supply, but the online power supply wattage calculator I used said that my build would only need a 430W PSU. Do I need to buy a 500W PSU to use this graphics card?

Yes, you need some overhead to be safe anyway and with the prices of good power supplies so low these days, I'd get a 550w... too high and you will lose efficiency though.
