Yes, you can disable it completely in the settings menu.  System Setup -> Screen Protection -> Pixel Cleaning Reminder -> Off

QD OLED is glossy. WOLED coming out later will be matte. It will likely be like this for almost all the manufacturers. QDOLED from samsung, glossy. WOLED from LG, matte.
