It did the job
Pros: Straight forward installation and there was no extra charge for it when I purchased the cryorig H7
Cons: It's plastic instead of Steel if that matters
So far, so good but really loud as said by others
Pros: So far, it has run well (only a bit over a week so far). It tested good when I did a thorough (4 hour plus) format on it with Casper software.
Cons: As other reviewers have said it really hums loudly, resonates my steel PC case. I will go back in soon & put some dampening material on the steel cage it is mounted in soon. I hope it is not a sign of impending failure! When I shut the PC down, it squeals as it stops spinning. I already had an 8-1/2 year old 1TB Black HDD & a one year old 3TB Black HDD in the case before I installed this one & they only clicked when they were reading or writing. This one hums loudly more often then it does not.
Overall Review: If I had known it was going to be this loud, I would have opted for the Blue drive at less than half the price. I cannot recommend it at this point. I will update after I have had it awhile.
Good old fashioned case
Pros: 2 quiet fans included. 2 USB3 ports on the front. Front I/O ports located at mid level on the front. Low to mid price point. Sturdy
Cons: No USB C port on front. MoBo screw holes slightly off (or is the board?)
Overall Review: Got this for my wife's new Lightroom editing PC I built for her. She is not into RGB nor having a window in the side, so this is goodfor her. It came with a couple of fans installed that seem decent and are quiet. Plenty of room for expansion. We still like optical drives, and it has space for 2. I will be adding a USB C port on the front.
I finally got it
Pros: It took a long time to get here but I got it and it appears to be fine but I have not used it yet
Cons: I do not know what happened with this item but early on I received notice that it shipped. Then I got a notice that it had been delivered the same day but it was delivered and signed for at the same place it was shipped from. After a large number of emails back and forth from me to Newegg, from Newegg to the 3rd party vendor, then a large number of emails in all different directions along with claims it had been delivered over multiple weeks, it arrived at my home! It appears to be what I ordered although I have not used it yet.
Overall Review: I recommend the product but hopefully my difficulty getting it was a fluke.
So far so good
Pros: Fairly simple how to install and so far it's keeping my AMD Ryzen 1700X very cool, the warmest I've seen so far is 41 degrees Celsius but I have not stressed it yet. It has a large area for heat dissipation
Cons: The mounting bracket does not hold the cooler in one exact position when handled. Now it's not like it's going to move very far, but it will move without excessive pressure. I'm not sure if this will be a problem when the CPU gets really hot and possibly the thermal paste could get more liquid like. It is probably a non-issue
Beware of Rebate policies
Pros: The drive is fast if not somewhat unpredictable. Replacing the original WD 5400 RPM drive in my 3 year old Compaq laptop has cut boot times into less than half. However I have been having sporadic reboots. I have seen other reviews that indicate the SandForce has BSOD problems, I do not know if mine has the updated firmware or not. I will be checking.
Cons: OCZ uses an independent company for their rebates. They could be referred to as scammers. There are 2 barcodes on the shipping box. They said I sent the wrong one in, but if I sent the other one in they would honor the rebate. After sending it in, they now are saying on the website that I sent it in too late. I'm done with rebates & I will not be supporting OCZ again!
Overall Review: I have read many other reviews about the rebate policies. I only wish I had paid more attention. This is not really a Newegg problem, but they should refuse to sell items with rebates.
Good product
Nice computer. The refurbisher did a good job of providing a ready to use product. It was clean with no dust inside the case. All necessary Windows 10 drivers were already installed. They had even installed Firefox and a generic word processor and spreadsheet software. I love the fact that Lenovo left room for expansion with extra slots, a rarety with most prebuilt PC's.
