Great Productivity Processor
Pros: This is a very fast processor. It is great for a mix of productivity and gaming performance. Comes with a cooler that has optional RGB.
Cons: Limited PCIE lanes limits the number of M.2 NAND drives and high performance graphics cards that can be used.
Overall Review: I replaced my i7 6800K with this. The two extra cores help with productivity and the higher based/turbo clocks make it great for games. I thought about going with the best i7, but all the coolers excluding custom loop water, disinterested me and I did not want to spend the extra cash for it. I chose the X over the non-X to get higher clock frequencies for better gaming performance. I have not overclocked this processor as it is fast enough for me without overclocking. I need stability and this processor, even with the included cooler, is solid. I have not found out how to control the inner ring of the RGB on the cooler to keep it from color changing. But it looks cool, so I stopped fiddling with it.
Functional, but cannot get it to run at 3200
Pros: I have been running this memory for over 2 years and none of the 8 sticks that I bought have failed outright. I was able to stack my PC with 128GB of memory, letting me run virtual machines and whole SQL databases in memory. This greatly speeds up development time. I currently have 64GB of this running in two separate development computers and the computers are stable.
Cons: I have tried this memory on x99 and x99A with multiple processors and motherboards. I have also tried this memory with x470 motherboard and multiple processors. I was unable to get it to run anywhere near the claimed 3200 despite spending days at a time tweaking settings.
Overall Review: If you need a ton of memory, and don't really care what speed it is, this is a good product. If you need lower latency and higher bandwidth for things like gaming, I would suggest researching something else.
I love this board
Pros: Dude, 4x NVME slots and using all the slots doesn't disable anything.
Cons: Expensive, 10Gbe NIC would have been great, but honestly 5Gbe onboard is fine for almost everything not server.
Overall Review: Using PCIE2 does cut down PCIE1 to 8x (makes them the same speed), but I only lost about 1-5fps when I dropped my 4090 to the bottom slot.
Good board with limitations
Pros: Good amount of NVME slots (4) if one does not need the bottom PCIE slot. Basically a gaming/single GPU board.
Cons: Note that if M2_4 (one of the bottom NVME slots) is occupied, the bottom PCIE will be disabled. Marketing says intel XMP/AMD Expo, but honestly, only Expo profiles work from what I tried. I wasted a few hours tinkering to no avail.
Overall Review: The boards white is good, but matte and not gloss, so it's not a bright white as I would have liked. The edge of the PCB is silicone yellow/greenish, not white. Meh. I think it still looks good though. Only use a 9000/7000 CPU on this board. 8000 based CPU will reduce a lot of stuff and I'd get a different board for that. Use a GPU with a big cooler to cover the ugly space, or a GPU adapter to turn your GPU fans facing out instead of down.
Fast processor for gaming
Pros: Overkill for most games. Doesn't run too hot from my experience.
Cons: Mid for content creation. Is picky about what memory works on it, AMD EXPO only highly recommended.
Overall Review: Overkill for graphically intensive games, it's sits at 25-50% most of the time. If gaming is the critical requirement, but a bit of content creation on the side is needed, perfectly fine.
Good card, but still pricy
Pros: 2 Fan option is great. More room for other things. A bit faster than a 3080 12GB. The white on it is not too far off-white to make it not match well if the case is properly lit.
Cons: Could be a con, the fans turn off when the card is not in use. I'm fine, but less esthetic than when the fans are moving. The 3X fan card probably would look better.
Overall Review: Just like all non-black/grey pieces, ensure it's lit consistently so that it matches the rest of the components in the case. You can see in my pic, I'm not quite there. I'll probably move the fans to the bottom of the radiator to get it correct.
