Survived the West Virginia Floods
Pros: Great size, great speed, great durability
Cons: None
Overall Review: My home was submerged in 4 feet of water for 12 hours in the WV flooding. Several of my neighbor's homes literally floated away. Six to eight inches of mud covered everything in my home. The bottom of my PC case where this was mounted had 4 inches of mud inside the computer. You couldn't even see the drive. After cleaning the mud off the drive and using a pencil eraser on the contacts I connected it to a different computer and there wasn't a single error! All my data was still there!!!
Bad network
Pros: Good price, good build.
Cons: One of the two mobo network ports is completely unusable in Linux. There's a known issue with that 82579LM chip and driver that causes the network card to go to sleep for 5 to 10 seconds every few minutes even if you disable power management. Not fun with VOIP traffic. DONT RUN LINUX on this box unless you want a big headache.
Overall Review: I wish I'd known before I ordered 3 of these, now I am having my remote office ship the server back so we can install an additional network card and disable the on-board em0.
Built-in RAID 10 is awful
Pros: Typical SuperMicro server pro's - great HD bays, love the IPMI, lots of RAM possibilities
Cons: I'm getting < 8 MB/sec with six 8TB enterprise drives configured in RAID 10 (21.8TB formatted) in Windows 2016. Unfortunately I didn't notice until we'd loaded up quite a bit of data on it. Now I've got to move this data off and figure out what to do.
Overall Review: I wish I'd done more testing before putting this into production use.
Worth every penny
Pros: Sturdy, folds small, good grip on the handle.
Cons: Price?
Overall Review: I hesitated to buy this because of the price and how cheap you can get pop-out circular 5-in-1 reflectors. However, I haven't regretted it. If you shoot solo without an assistant, the handle makes it easy to hold at the same time as your camera, or even clamp it if needed. Good size, just wish it had a reflective cover for those times you need even more pop. Works great as a small scrim, too if you have an assistant hold it to soften direct sunlight.
Bigger than I expected
Pros: Well made, no sharp parts, love the ports in the top of the case. Handles!
Cons: All the little honeycomb grid on it grabs dust like nobody's business. It's basically one huge filter.
Overall Review: Won't fit in my desk where the PC tower should go, so it sits on the floor.
Well made, does it's job
Pros: Good pen and good stylus in one! Looks good, with the brushed aluminum.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Not afraid to pull this out in an executive meeting - it's very light yet very solid. Just the right size, although as others have noted you really need to cap the stylus to use the pen and vice versa.
Claimed to ship from USA but doesn't
5 days after ordering I asked why they still showed the order "in-processing" - the response was that it was on it's way from overseas, and that they would give me a free upgrade to 2-day shipping. Then they created a USPS tracking number in Newegg just to ensure I couldn't cancel the order. I feel the seller lied about the product shipping from the USA and the fact that they blocked me canceling the order when they told me otherwise is shady.
I've had issues in the past with them, but lately has been fine.
Got my product reasonably quick, packaged well and as expected. They also followed up by email to make sure everything arrived OK. To those complaining of ship time, it's a marketplace seller and that's pretty standard. I try to avoid marketplace sellers because of that, but sometimes you just can't get the product from Newegg directly.
Waited over 2 weeks, product that arrived had been opened before and was damaged
They didn't even ship it until the day I inquired as to why it was taking so long, then the printer I received had been opened, was missing the packing material, had bubble wrap shoved in the box and was completely broken.
