Great gpu with minor drawbacks for skyreach 4 mini
Pros: GPU Size options from gigabyte continue to serve the sff community Large fans with full pass through cooling on second fan Small PCB makes ultra sff mod community sperg 16gb ddr7 Fits great in my 5L daily driver (skyreach 4 mini)
Cons: Would have preferred better packaging, more padding to help prevent damage in transport
Overall Review: Have to thank Gigabyte for offering smaller GPUs that actually are attractive to the sff community. (The 4060 low profile card had me modding a sub 4L case for 6mo, was a blast) No more than 2 slot width is a huge plus The shorter the better for opening up case options My pictured build: 12700k with metalfish z39 and noctua fan swap Asrock z690m itx 32gb ddr4 HDPLEX 500w psu with stock wiring Skyreach 4 mini case by NFC Gigabyte 5060ti 16gb
Low cost alternative
Pros: Pro: -ITX layout with lots of room around CPU socket, allows for much better cooling (see pic) -Dual M.2 slots on the front, sandwich case enthusiasts need this, back side slots are much hotter. wide heatsink is simple but effective given the location -Bios update without CPU/RAM is great -Bios was easy to work with even though I haven't used Asrock in 20y. Has simple as well as more complex controls. set it and forget it is what I like these days. -Z690 controls are limited when it comes to power output, but it seems appropriate given the form factor. Most I think would benefit from under-volting, which you can with this board -3200-CL14 ram booted up no problem -Audio is fine, onboard is never amazing but I have had no complaints so far using headphones and speakers -2 different Ethernet ports is an overlooked redundancy that I appreciate
Cons: Cons -USB/Headphone jacks feel cheap to me, they are tight and do not have a 'snap' to them when you plug in cords. Feels at times like I am plugging something into the wrong port or backwards because of the stiff resistance all the way in... -I would prefer the IO shield to have labels on the ports. It need not be attached, but its bottom of the barrel and could be a little more informative if not stylish and would add a lot -Green LED on the motherboard is always on and may annoy some looking for a particular aesthetic, does not bother me
Overall Review: Definitely feels cheaper in some areas, but it costs half as much or less than the nearest competitor board with the same chipset features, has it where it counts, no problems whatsoever with the build so far 12700k with Noctua NH-L12 Ghost S1 edition with 120x15mm fan idles at 32C, doesn't get above 55C all day at the office (CAD, design software), have not tried games yet. While I have come to appreciate the finer things building in SFF cases exclusively for years now, (especially when it comes to premium power supplies and motherboards), This board is no nonsense, so far solid, and has a lot going for it for the price.
Pros: Cheap alternative to branded product, functional and no issues after using several of these products personally and many more at work on their printers
Cons: nothing so far
Quality unit for a great price
Pros: great array of options to this small little gadget. I use it in my physics class to quickly and easily show laws relating power, current and voltage. Also used it to show the draw increasing over time when using computers in different application settings such as gaming, word processing, surfing, etc. It helps me out in my teaching quite a bit.
Cons: Wish it had a toggle for night vision LED but that is just me
