Pros: This mouse may be worthy for professional gamers only, as Maximum PC suggested - and they may not be far from the truth - although I disagree with their mediocre rating. I found this mouse to be a supreme "Kickxxx" performer for gaming. It may have been optimized for the claw-grip (used by many top gamers such as Fatal1ty), but I've also tried different grip styles on this mouse without any concerns. Do not be troubled about what you may have heard about its smallish size...my hands are not complaining, and they are on the large side, enough to barely palm a basketball. This mouse glides more smoothly with less resistance than the G5/G7, making it the easiest mouse to move in Logitech's lineup. Aiming in games (and connecting successfully) has never been easier!

The G9 is not as ergonomic for a relaxed "resting" hand position, because it is shorter in height & length and provides much less support than its two predecessors. The G9 is better suited for a hand that's in "armed" position and ready to pounce. In other words, the G9 is further optimized for fast paced sessions that demand quick and precise movements. Also, lateral movement of the scroll wheel is not as easy as G5/7's. Top surface can get a little warm and can cause slight finger perspiration, too.

Overall Review: The G5 & G7 are very good gaming mice, and I don't believe this mouse is a "Must Have" for many gamers. The G9 is better tuned for gaming performance, but the G5/7 are better all-around mice for both play and work. I'll put it this way: In a high pressure gaming environment where jedi reflexes & accuracy are everything, the G9 is the tool to perform surgery with. This predatory mouse comes highly recommended only for those who are serious about gaming and want every edge one can get.

Pros: Rated battery runtime is accurate to within one minute. Provides plenty of backup power for a high-end PC system with enough time to save & shutdown properly. Access to instant LCD readings is very convenient & more useful than I thought.

Cons: It has a large transformer which will cause poorly shielded devices to emit a faint buzz. However, this is harmless and only occurs when running off its battery in the event of a power loss.

Overall Review: I bought this unit to protect a new system which includes a power-hungry PC, a 5.1 system, & two large LCD panels, even though power losses are relatively rare in my area. I'm glad I did because "rare" is never rare enough. A power outage immediately followed by a sudden power surge striked my area about a month after this purchase...so this unit may have already paid for itself. CyberPower customer service seems very good -- I've had a few questions & concerns, and their support agents responded within a day & were helpful.

Pros: Under load, it is difficult to hear drive activity amongst the noise produced by my two stock 80mm fans, power supply, and CPU fans. In room temp of 75F/24C, disk temp without any cooling has not reached beyond 42C even after hours of defragmenting, cloning, and long file transfers.

Cons: Industry's highest five year warranty means best replacement program but does not necessarily translate to reliability - a prime problem with all hard drives, regardless of manufacturer. However, no complaints with this one, so far. Data loss shouldn't be much of a problem if you have multiple backup drives anyway.

Overall Review: This drive is actually my first one from Seagate! I've used "desktop user" drives by Maxtor, WD, IBM, and Quantum ('90s) all of which have been running for more than 7 years in continuous 24/7 operation without any issues. I've only used high-end quality power supplies to fuel all my hard drives, so I believe much of the great reliability I've experienced is attributed to this factor. My best advice with hard drives: Worry a little less about hard drive manufacturer, and focus more concern on a good power supply.

Pros: Quality built cable. Replaced an old fashioned ribbon cable (80-wire) and actually improved hard disk performance ever so slightly.

Cons: A bit stiff to bend, but nothing troublesome. Sheaths are loose enough to slide down but can be dealt with - besides, it appears they are designed for the purpose of providing a secure grip when attaching or detaching a drive. The wires may be exposed but pose no problem at all as they are individually shielded anyway.

Overall Review: A ~500MB transfer of FLAC files between two hard drives together on this cable completed in a full one second faster than with the flat ribbon cable in place. I repeated this test several times with the same result. Although a very insignificant improvement, this is a sign of quality stranding with good guage and solid shielding. Btw, I think this cable looks nicer in person. Yes, less clutter and better airflow!

Pros: Adds fast USB2.0 capability to an old system. It provides two external ports, which has allowed me to connect a new external hard drive for fast backups and a hub for additional hi-speed USB ports. This PCI card also has one 9-pin internal connector, which has enabled the use of a front panel memory card reader.

Cons: It slowed the system down in XP - especially the hard drives. It literally cut down hard drive performance in half. How did I know for sure? Disabling this card or removing it would immediately restore full read/write speeds. Re-installing it would bring back the same problem. However, in contrast to the included manual, this disappointment was resolved by installing the card's drivers.

Overall Review: The manual states that XP natively supports this card, and that no drivers are necessary for SP1 or later. Well, ignore these instructions, and install the RC-100 drivers if you want to preserve overall system performance in XP. If you are updating a computer and looking for an excellent combo for use with this card, I recommend the compact & reliable Vantec 4-port USB2.0 hub and the versatile Koutech internal memory card reader/writer, which supports 30 different card types including miniSD & T-flash without the need for adapters...all here at low prices from Newegg.
