Quiet - inexpensive

SIIG JK-WR0212-S1 104 Normal Keys 2.4GHz Wireless Standard Multimedia Keyboard & Mouse
SIIG JK-WR0212-S1 104 Normal Keys 2.4GHz Wireless Standard Multimedia Keyboard & Mouse

Pros: Was looking for an inexpensive and quiet wireless keyboard and mouse combo. This fit the bill quite well. Compared to a much more expensive keyboard set, it is worth the price. It connected to my XP computer and my new soon-to-be Windows 10 computer (works within the bios setup screens).

Cons: The mouse is a little bit narrow and seems a bit difficult to control. There is no off switch on either the keyboard or mouse. The icons on the keyboard for the media buttons are almost invisible - almost the same color as the keyboard. This may be why the price is so low for a wireless keyboard.

Overall Review: I'll use it until it stops working and then get something better. I typically use Microsoft keyboard and mice, but this is a nice change for the money. I did not purchase this set from Newegg, but had a chance to try out a bunch of keyboards at the store and selected this one because it was the quietest of the bunch and had a nice feel.

StarTech.com PEX2S553 2 Port Native PCI Express RS232 Serial Adapter Card with 16550 UART

Pros: I am giving this three eggs because this card was easy to install, supported by older and current OSs and their technical support was surprisingly easy to access and helpful - confirm using the latest driver, re-seat the card, try a different PCI-e slot/computer, get another card.

Cons: I am not giving it five eggs because it only worked for two days before starting to fail - it would drift in and out of being recognized by Windows XP and eventually was unresponsive after about a week.

Overall Review: Now it is up to Newegg's RMA process to get a replacement and see how it performs.

Defective, but has potential

SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 1.0" Red 4GB MP3 Player SDMX18R-004GR-A57
SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 1.0" Red 4GB MP3 Player SDMX18R-004GR-A57

Pros: Easy access to music. Good bright OLED display. Custom audio settings with a 5-band equalizer. Starts playing from where it left off when powered off. Has good FM radio reception. Has good fast forward and rewind for navigating through larger files. It is small and light weight.

Cons: I had to get an RMA the day I received the unit because the sound to the headphones would cut out when I wiggled the headphone plug. I look forward to getting a replacement because the rest of my experience with the player was very positive. With the exception of the defect with this unit, it is much better overall than the cheap MP3 player I bought a year ago from a local electronics store.
