CORSAIR MP700 PRO 2TB with Air Cooler PCIe Gen5 x4 NVMe 2.0 M.2 SSD – High-Density TLC NAND – Active Air Cooler – M.2 2280 – DirectStorage Compatible – Up to 12,400MB/sec

Pros: - Fast - Looks Cool

Cons: - The fan is VERY loud and noticeable.

Overall Review: The fan is VERY loud and noticeable. My PC is silent otherwise (all fans go to 0 RPM under casual use) and the tiny fan on the SSD is extremely noticeable. I'm considering removing the heat sink and just using my motherboard's built-in heatsink. I also might consider just unplugging the power to the fan and seeing how it does without it running. I recommend buying the version with no fan/heatsink and using your motherboard heatsink.

Nice System

Cons: None.

Patriot Extreme Performance Viper Series 12GB (6 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model PVT312G1333LLHK

Pros: No matter what Bill Gates says, you can never have enough memory. By putting 12GB of RAM in your machine you can be sure that you will never have a memory bottleneck.

Cons: None

Nice Drive

Cavalry CAUM Series 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive - CAUM3701T0-B

Pros: So far this seems like a great drive. It is very quiet and runs cool enough.

Cons: The backlight of the Cavalry logo is quite bright.

Overall Review: This drive costs the exact same as the bare HDD by itself.

Good HDD

WD My Book Essential 1TB USB 2.0 3.5" External Hard Drive WDH1U10000N

Pros: Huge capacity and decent transfer rates.

Cons: Computer will not boot with the drive plugged in, must unplug the USB cable before starting computer.

Overall Review: I now have 2.46TB of storage space attached to my computer, I remember our first Windows based PC that had a 250MB HDD!! And of course the good old Apple II.
