Can I exchange this for Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz   1.80 GHz? And would it be an improvement. This is a laptop computer, will this fit in it?

No, this is a Desktop CPU.

You can't change out CPUs on Laptops. From google: "In most newer laptops, the manufacturers are soldering the CPU directly on the motherboard. As a result, it is practically impossible to replace or upgrade the CPU on your laptop"

You need to either buy a new Laptop or if you're not traveling a lot a Desktop (That can be customized & parts can be removed & replaced, that are compatible).

Question 3

Has anyone heard of a forced bios update caused by Intel dropping it in windows update?

Accepted Answer

No, the bios for the motherboard will be updated separately from within the motherboard setup by downloading and installing or by downloading manually and in the motherboard setup choosing the location of the bios file to use for the update.  Motherboards have different brands and therefore have different bios files.

Is the 13600k a hybrid Alder and Raptor Lake chip? I think the 13600, 13400 and 13500 are.
