I have tried other component-to-HDMI converters for which the resulting HDMI image (from a DVD) did not appear to have the correct horizontal sync (image appeared "wavy" from top to bottom). Will this converter produce a stable, correctly synced image?

It did in my case.  This was used in a distributed video system output from an older Xantech 8X8 matrix switch to a medium priced Epson projector.

What is the delay time  when converting component to HDMI?

We did not use this with audio at all, just video.  We have no sample of audio delay.

A previous answer about coaxial input seemed to assume cable needed a decryption. But will a coaxial cable input from basic cable work if you have an unencrypted cable signal (yes you can still get that in some places - i can hook a tv up to any coax jack in my house and get cable like how it used to be everywhere)? The overview would seem to suggest it can do AV, not just audio.

Will this work with the Amazon Fire TV? I have the old TV that doesn't have a HDMI video input as required by the Amazon Fire TV device. I need to run a HDMI cable from the Amazon fire TV device then convert to component or RCA so that it will in turn connect to either RCA or Component Video in on my TV.

This is not an HDMI-to-component video converter.  It's the other way around.  Get the Fury III or better yet, a new TV

Can I use this to convert my cable coax line and convert to my TV HDMI input? My coax input on my tv broke off!!!

No, the Coax is for Digital Audio ONLY. You would need a separate set-top box from the cable company to convert the signal to a different video output like HDMI or Component Video. The reason for this is that you need a "cable tuner" in order to view cable broadcasts so if the Coax on your TV broke, you not only need a new connection but a tuner as well. Again, this is only possible with a set top cable box from your provider.

My direct tv box only has a Hdmi port on it and I want to connect to my tv wich only has red green and blue component ports is this the right converter or can I get one without audio?

No.  It will convert a component video source to an HDMI display.  It will not convert an HDMI source to component.
