Question 1

I'd like to install a 2.5" SSD. The drive bays trays have the holes to screw in the SSD, but one of the pins on the side (to hold a full size HDD) is in the way. Can this pin be removed, or am I missing something?

I encountered a similar problem. My OCZ Vertex 4 128GB SSD can't be mounted in the Corsair tray, unless one destructively removes that interfering pin. I ended up mounting my SSD in the metal tray it came with and then using the pins to secure it in the drive bay tray. But beware, my OCZ tray holes are a bit too small for the pins and need to be reamed out a little. Those drive trays in the 300R seem a bit cheap compared to the rest of the case. I wish the case had a better place to mount an SSD.

Question 2

The case specifications indicate the height of the case - apparently without the feet - is 17.70" tall. Can someone verify this?
Also, are the feet easy to remove from the case and if so, would not affect its general stability.

Yes, without the feet it would be 17.7".  The feet seem to be riveted in but could easily taken off permanently.
HOWEVER, there is a filter located on the bottom below the power supply.
Also the front bezel is is full height 18.5".
Therefore it is not practical to remove the feet to lower the total case height to the 17.7".

Hi, I want to know will this case be fit my MSI Z97 Gaming 7 motherboard, intel i5 4690K CPU and Asus GTX STRIX 970 Graphic Card?

I have a ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 with an AMD FX-6300 Vishera CPU and a EVGA GeForce GTX 750 with a Corsair Hydro 100i watercooler and the corsair CX500 power supply with all fan slots filled and with proper cable management have enough room to add an additional graphics card and hard drives. I also purchased a grommet kit meant for the corsair 350D and used them to help hide my cables. They were a perfect fit and made the inside of the case look cleaner.

Question 4

Do you have to use the hexagon screws (Don't know what there called) to raise the motherboard or is it already built into the case?

The motherboard standoffs are already pre-built into the case, they look like little round bumps with a hole in the middle. All you have to do is line your motherboard up with the holes and use a phillips head screw driver to secure your motherboard in place once set.

Question 5

I would assume the vents on the side are for fans to direct airflow to the cpu/gpu. wouldn't this cause turbulence? and does all that fit comfortably in the case?

To your first question, I would think the turbulence is negligible.
To the second, I bought an ASUS GeForce 660TI graphics card, and I find that it is a bit too tight to fit side fans, mostly because of the orientation of the power cable ports on the card, such that the cable presses against the side vent.  Other cards may have better clearance.
And just a side note, I picked this case for my first custom build, and did not consider the fact that cats love to sit on things that are warm.  To cat owners: maybe rethink buying a case with vents on the top.

Question 6

How loud are the two fans that come pre-installed?  Does the mesh design on top allow fan noise (CPU cooler, etc) to escape?  Thanks.

The computer is virtually silent.  Initially I was hesitant to buy it because one of the reviews said it is noisy.  The review is wrong. If it were not for the front panel lamp, I can't tell if the computer is on.  The mesh top is not a problem.

By far the loudest noise from the computer is the HD calibrating (2 clicks) on startup!!

Can a 240mm or 280mm radiator be used for this case? Ex. Corsair 100i or 110?

The case supports two 12 cm fans on the top.  That leaves room for a 240 mm radiator, but I am not sure about a 280 radiator plus fans.  The will be little clearance between the radiator + fans and the fan at the back of the case.  A 280 mm radiator might interfere with an optical drive.  The optical drives are mounted at the top of the case and cable clearance might be an issue.

But a 240 mm radiator should work.  I only use 12cm coolers, such as the Corsair H80 and H80i.  I am a modest overclocker.

Is there a fan filter on the bottom of the case?

Can this fit a EVGA 04G-2978-KR GeForce GTX 970 FTW  graphics card and a EVGA x79 dark motherboard?

I'm not a computer expert but most likely not. When looking at your EVGA x79 dark motherboard, it states in its Specs that it is an Extended ATX form factor. The Corsair Carbide Series 300R only states that it is compatible with micro ATX and just ATX.

The Dimensions of this Case is 19.1" x 8.3" x 17.7" and your motherboard is 12" x 10.375". So Technically it can fit; however, you might run into problems of cables and other components fitting in with it. Also screw holes in the motherboard might not align properly.

I suggest finding a different motherboard or just getting a Full Tower case that says it can support a Extended ATX motherboard.
