Very good so far!
Pros: Fast enough to saturate my gigabit ethernet (reading several large files simultaneously, admittedly best-case probably). Quieter than my computer fans. Easy setup. Everything worked as advertised. Adding additional drives to the array was painless.
Cons: Operations involving zillions of TINY files are slow. However, this is more an issue with network file access than any hardware limitation.
Overall Review: Prior generation Drobos had a bad rap for speed, but the new generation's quad-core processors seem to be a great improvement. Another reviewer complained that the 5N doesn't support features that it wasn't advertised as supporting. That's not a negative; that's reading comprehension.
Unreliable, broke in 13 months
Pros: * Sync fully detailed contacts to/from Outlook -- killer feature for me. * Email worked well * Bluetooth worked reasonably well, and worked with external bluetooth keyboard -- handy for business-on-the-go.
Cons: * Hinge wiring died at 13 months rendering phone useless just outside of warranty (I bought it brand new, back in 2005) *WM 2003 is very outdated and promised much more than it could deliver. (IMHO, Windows Mobile 5 was the first "ready for customers" version) * OS is slow. * Poor screen resolution * Web browsing was bad even when the phone was new; I'd hate to try it now. * Motorola iTAP implementation on this phone FAR INFERIOR to T9. * Camera has lots of megapixels, but in most lighting results are just bad. Very few phones of this age had decent cameras, but this certainly wasn't one of them.
Overall Review: Here in 2009, this phone makes very-little sense. For a small amount more, NewEgg also has the Samsung Blackjack which while also outdated was my 3rd Windows Mobile phone but the FIRST where Windows Mobile actually just "worked right". You can't install the older version of ActiveSync on newer versions of Windows anymore, so much of what's "good" about syncing this phone is now lost.
