Great to have different colors
Pros: High speed cables supporting 1080p with 3D (also stated 4K, no way for me to test). I bought because of 3 different colors cables, makes it so easy to identify and connect. I have so many HDMI in the back this simplified my connections.
Cons: None
Works... I think part 2
Pros: This is an update of my previous review.
Cons: As I said earlier,After installing Winzip systems utilities, it started to take over 4 minutes to shutdown my laptop. I un-installed winzip utilities but like old Norton, there were many fragments left and continue 4+ minutes shutdown time. I couldn't use other uninstall utilities but could not make it work since .dat file was deleted thru winzip uninstall. This is what I did that worked, if anyone has same issues... I re-installed Winzip utilities (it still remembers activation code - good thing in this case ;-) ) I boot in Safe Mode I used Slim Computer to un-install. Reboot and back to less than 15 sec shutdown :)
Overall Review: Even for free this utility is not worth installing. As I said in my previous review, there are lot of free utilities that does better job. The only reason I bout this is (my bad) I was hoping this would include Winzip even it wasn't mentioned and was free after rebate. Just save yourself hassle and don't even try it.
Good coffee maker
Pros: Single cup brewer that does not cost an arm and a leg. Makes good coffee fast. Included reusable capsule, environmentally good choice + allows to use your favorite coffee.
Cons: Additional coffee capsule cost about $20 on Brew1 website (not found anywhere else). If you need more than 1 cup you need to clean the capsule for reuse.
OK
Pros: Came bundled with the receiver, actually one of the reason to cheese Onkyo 515. Connection was easy, plug it in and go to settings and enter password. Now I can play Padora and my media on my computer using DLNA.
Cons: Not "N". Not strong enough looses connection
Overall Review: If I had to pay for this, it's not a good buy.
Good receiver for price
Pros: # of Inputs, 7.2, Multi-room support, 1.4 HDMI, HDMI pass through that actually works, included USB dongle for WIFI and looks good, price, decent sound
Cons: only 80 Watts per channel output, not loud enough for my room
Overall Review: I bought this to replace old Yamaha 5830 which had no HDMI inputs in my family room which has 5.1 bookself Yamaha speakers and sub. My old Yamaha was able to fill the room and my was was complaining to turn down volume, with this one she has yet to complain ;-) Center channel output is little low, I replaced the center speaker with larger Pioneer but I still have to bump-up the level. While running MultiEX in speaker set up, the receiver set 150 Hz while the speaker can go down to 55Hz (I like center channel to produce more sound since all dialogs comes from there). You can manually adjust them to your liking so no big deal. I'm big fan of streaming music. Besides Pandora there are hundreds of vTuner stations to find music to meet your mood. I also set up DLNA server on my linux desktop where I have thousands of songs. Sound for music is grat. I bought it during Newegg's iron egg promotion for $300 after returning Pioneer 1222 which came DOA and was double the price. I'm very happy with my purchase. This is a good entry level receiver with all modern features including support for 4K for future.
Is there a reason Pioneer selling at half price?
Pros: Receiver looked good, plenty of connection options, class D amp, Auto set up.
Cons: Remote is horrible. There are no one touch buttons for listening modes. No manuals - yes it does have a cd.
Overall Review: Mine came defective. After hooking up everything, I found that HDMI pass through was not going thru. After setting receiver to pass through mode (while on) and then turning off into stand by mode, I was able to pass video to my TV but still no audio. I eventually found out that I could pass audio for SD channels but not for HD. I contacted Pioneer, no one answered the call than I sent them an email explaining the issue. Response was very vague and not helpful at all. Newegg rocks!! I contacted them on Cyber Monday thru chat and no questions asked, RMA was generated and upon asking return shipping charges waived. I've been long time newegg customer and first time had to use their customer service, couldn't be happier. I bought a different brand receiver from Newegg.
