RMA return backlog- Mostly good drives
Pros: Nice quiet drive, not hot like many Seagates. Big. Fairly fast access. Seems to work well in a Netgear/Infrant ReadyNAS NV+ and a Tivo S3. 10 of 11 work fine.
Cons: 1 of 11 DOA. Be advised that the manufacturer has a backlog of returns now, and NO date given on when they will ship an advance return (low inventory of RMA drives). Also, warranty date given by manufacturer is based on ship date to Retailer, not purchased date by end user. No ability to enter or edit purchase date in manufacturer RMA form.
Overall Review: Must use an older version of Seagate's SeaTools to test, not the Samsung software or a later version. I found SeaTools 3.02 (found on HiRen BootCD 10.1) to work for testing purposes.
Looks like a good deal-until you look under the hood.
Pros: A good deal. Simple. A card, complete with link, containing the serial number. Download & install. What could be easier? Arrived in a timely manner.
Cons: After installation, the first thing it asked me to do was download the patch (WinDVD Pro 11 SP4). I did so. (note: no registration). After that any time a disc (CD, DVD, Blu-Ray) was put in the drive with the program running, -or- when a choice was made to autoplay using WinDVD, it died and Windows hung trying to repair/close it. Corel shows the serial as registered, but not to my account. Without a "code" you get the 1st time you register the product, no tech support(default is "email support" for 30 days, not even chat. Unless, that is, you pay $19.95/incident, the ~purchase cost of the product. The calls I made to Corel got results like "nothing we can do", "try to re-register the product in 4 hours", and "try registering tomorrow". No help about this issue in Knowledgebase.
Overall Review: I hope this is not typical of Corel's support, but I'm now deeply wary of products under the Corel umbrella. This experience taints my view of the way this company does business. I wil follow up if things change. I was not treated this way by InterVideo, WinDVD's former owner. I have been using WinDVD since it first came out. I've even done beta testing for them. Wow. :(
Excellent multiuse keyboard
Pros: I wanted a keyboard that was light, flexible, and would work with PCs, Android, Google TV, and Tivo devices, both for test and regular use. Out of the box, this keyboard does an awesome job. I purchased multiple keyboards, both black/white and white/grey. All work, no problems, and the features like a manual on/off switch, extra left mouse button on L side of KB, and the balance of the keyboard are all great. This is a "must have" accessory for LG Google TVs. Have recommended to friends, and sold to customers.
Cons: Lack of numpad, wish function key mode was settable in keyboard. Have to press Fn to get function buttons. No battery indicator like on my Logitech S510.

3 drives all had errors
Pros: Cool, fast. quiet. PCs had very little problem recognizing it.
Cons: After experiencing some problems, I used manufacturer diagnostics, which showed increasing problems on data tracks and the maintenance cylinder. This was not immediately obvious at the OS level. Also wouldn't work (hung on boot) in 2 popular linux-based NAS systems.
Overall Review: Contacting manufacturer tech support was not a good idea.
