Will this scanner work with windows 7?

I plugged the Epson Perfection V37 scanner into my 64bit Windows 7 computer and it was immediately recognized. It works wonderfully replacing my old Olympus scanner that did not have drivers for 64bit Windows 7.

Is there a power switch?

Accepted Answer

There is a power button. It is 'soft off'(not a physical switch that disconnects the power); but pressing the power button toggles the scanner between active and some sort of standby mode where the scan light isn't illuminated, no motor activity can be heard, and the system is effectively off.

I haven't measured the actual difference in power consumption; but this isn't one of the awful old ones that just left their lights blazing merrily all the time.

What is the maximum document size?

8.5" x 11.7" (as per manual)

Also worthwhile noting the advertised:

ArcSoft Scan-n-Stitch "... this innovative software program digitizes legal, A3 and other large-size pages, section by section, then stitches all portions together, automatically."

I've never had occasion to use this software myself.

Operate with Windows 10?

Even though I'm technologically inept, after a tutor gave me one or two instructional bits, I was able to proceed on my own very nicely.
Scanned old family photos and uploaded them to my computer quickly and easily.
Machine simple and works well every time!

Question 5

Does the Epson V37 scan film (transparencies) and slides, and does it include templates to facilitate that?

Never scan film with my V37, not sure it will work. Also it doesn't come with holder for that. I think you should check out the V370 instead.

What are the dimensions of the flatbed itself?  I am looking for something that can handle 18.5 x 25 inches.

This will not handle your desired document size without multiple scans and stitching.

The dimensions of the glass are 23.6cm (9.29 in) by 30.4cm (11.97 in). The scanable area is approximately 21.8cm (8.58 in) by 29.6cm (11.65 in).

When looking at other scanners, look in the specifications for "Max. Document Size". This will tell you the largest document it can scan in a single pass.

It says it can enlarge images to 13x19", but what about oversized scans? Does it resize them to those dimensions or smaller, or does it maintain the original size and integrity of the image?

No. That would have to be done with software.

Question 8

Is this a better unit than v-600 or different?  I like this profile, does v600 have more options?  I would really like to scan and send straight to usb flash drive... can it be done?

Bought it for my picky son who's a a programmer and knows his stuff. He loves it and says yes... it will send directly to USB flash drive. Best of luck!
