Can I use this with my i-pod shuffle?

You can but you'll need a 3.5mm phono cable to do so.  This unit doesn't have bluetooth or USB connectivity for audio.   It's intended to have the music stored on a USB thumb drive or a standard SD card for playback.

can you listen to this device using headphone?

Not sure why you'd want to do that (and you can't). This device is just a speaker and has a 3.5mm audio input jack; no output jacks are provided to connect a headphone to.

Is the speaker grill removable?

It is not intended to be removed. If you are careful you can pry it off with something like a putty knife -I did this, but it was not easy and not recommended. The rest of the case is vinyl wrapped MDF, aside from the front panel which is all plastic.

how do you charge the battery? and if you can charged while using it?

You can charge it via a mini-USB cable to a power source such as a computer or an AC power adapter with USB out.  And yes, it will charge even when use.

I find it easy to leave it plugged in over night as the battery will not over charge. Also I carry a USB car lighter socket to charge as needed on the go and I would assume a 2 to 4 hour charge on average would complete the charge on the average Li-ion battery. Another option would be to purchase another battery as the cost for these are in the $4 to $6 range at the most and the battery in this unit is replaceable. Just a note this is a great little player and the size makes it easy to carry anywhere.

all though I have heard that it is the same battery as the Nokia 2310. which uses a Nokia BL-5c battery and can be found on ebay for $1-3.

We have a 9-inch TV with poor speakers.  We attached the speaker to it through the AUX port and kept plugged into the wall all the time.  It worked great for us.  Good volume and sound.  Unfortunately, the wire got disconnected and when we tried to plug it back in the port came loose and pushed into the speaker.  There isn't any way to open it up without going to work on it with a hammer.

how does this unit connect to a  Apple IPAD?
