Is it a brand new product?

This product is the same model that was released in November 2016, so it's a little over a year old. The oldest one I have had one for almost a year and it still works great and receives regular software updates from Google.

Will Google Home work with a bluetooth speaker, or can you wire a speaker to it?

It will not connect to another speaker via BT or aux wire. Besides it's own internal speaker, it can send or sync programming to speakers that are connected to the WiFi network, which can be done via a $35 Google Chromecast Audio (compact and has various wired connection options).

how far is the reception?

That's a tough question to answer because there are so many variables that affect the range of wifi. We have a 3000 sq ft house and I've placed a Google wifi on each level. Was it necessary? Probably not, but I get full signal everywhere by doing this. You can always start with one and add more later or do what I did and just go for the three pack. The mesh network works great and has been very reliable for me. Good luck hope this helps a little.

How far is the reception?

Unsure if you refer to the product hearing your voice commands, or connectivity with WiFI.

In a quiet environment, I find that the Google Home can pick up clear commands easily from across the room, and sometimes even when yelled from adjacent rooms.

The latter depends completely on your home WiFi strength. Anywhere you get a strong, reliable WiFi signal in your house, the Google Home will work well.
