does this unit play DVD-R 's with avi [Div-X] files?

I seriously doubt it. I was very disapointed with this unit. I is very low on the list of features. It doesn't even have a read out of the hours/minutes/seconds. I've only seen two very high end units that play avi files.  This unit is sitting on the top shelf in a closet at work because I can't use it.  It's all 'on screen display'.  I needed it to replace a $22 deck that I wore out. I needed it to play my 4 minute DVD promo (that I made) to play in my store window 24/7.  To make the DVD 'repeat' over and over, the word 'REPEAT' is plastered in the middle of the video and won't go away.  Useless.  Everything about it low end.  You can really get a lot more for your money out there. Avoid this unit.   Mike Allen

I dont know but its a peice of junk....hence the low price
