HANNspree 32" 1080p LCD HDTV

Pros: Default settings were overly bright and colors were exaggerated (on purpose), but it was very clear how to set them to a more reasonable "normal" level. There are plenty of adjustment settings for picture (color/brightness/contrast). Everything about this TV is generally as good or better than other LCD TVs: motion video, sharpness, colors, brightness, plenty of inputs, tuner, etc. Its light-weight, so easy to move around, and, when adjusted properly, low power consumption as well. 2 things I looked for when deciding on a purchase. Connecting the PC to this via VGA or HDMI shows up wonderfully, despite other reviewer. Image is ultra-sharp and text is easily readable (unless your eyes have problems and/or you are very far away). Remember, its an LCD, so just like an LCD computer monitor, ONLY the EXACT resolution will look right, meaning the aspect ratio (stretching/squishing) and sharpness/clarity and lack of pixelation or other odd effects. Cons: There is a small reflection around inside edge of bezel right next to the screen b/c the bezel's finish is so shiny. Not a very big deal though. Speakers suck, but NO WORSE than any other large flat-screen TV this size or larger or smaller. All TV's built-in sound systems generally suck. Suck does not mean not powerful or loud enough, they are plenty loud & powerful, but frequency response is not so great like a nice home theater setup (no bass). In fact, this TV's speakers are a bit too loud, often we watch TV on 2 volume setting (roughly 5% or 10% of max volume setting) so there isn't a very big usable range. Only a single output: headphone output for audio. With an appropriate cable (not included, but less than $10) that converts stereo miniplug (1/8") to 2 RCA plugs, I connected it to be able to hear broadcast TV's audio on the big home theater setup. Same cable you'd use to connect the audio out jack on your computer to your home stereo's Left/white Right/red RCA jacks

Overall Review: I was worried because it was such a low price (a few hundred dollars less than other comparables) and b/c of the reviewer that said it did not look good when connected to a computer, as that is will be my primary use. But after having it over a week now, overall it's an AWESOME TV!! The cons above are the same for nearly any TV, except for maybe the lack of more outputs, and overall aren't all that bad anyway. It was on sale for thr33 hundr3d fifty dollarz (US$350) w/ free shipping - I wish I would have ordered 2. Or 3 or 4. At that price it was a steal. I feel kinda guilty. But I still love the TV and would buy it again in a heartbeat. On a side note about connecting a PC to it, if you use Windows I've never seen Windows automatically set your desktop resolution & refresh rate to whatever monitor you have connected, it just leaves them at whatever they were, even if you switch from a monitor to this TV, so you HAVE to set them yourself. Pros: First thing first, if you don't own the product, DON'T POST A REVIEW! Yeesh! The screen is bright (very), has a relatively clean and attractive front bezel, and reproduces color reasonably well. HD TV image was great (watched some fast-moving Formula 1) as well as to my PC (played a little Left 4 Dead 2); the TV image was great; the PC image was a little less than stellar as I couldn't find any combination of settings on the TV or through the PC display settings to get 100% crisp text. Gaming with it, though, was surprisingly good considering the advertised 6ms when compared to the 28" monitor's claimed 2ms. Plenty of input choices, which is much appreciated when looking at the paltry 2 options with the 28" monitor. Dark images are displayed better on this screen when compared to the company's 28" monitors; details are better. Remote is decent. Cons: As mentioned earlier, using this as a PC monitor might be a pain if you read a lot of text... I think someone else mentioned this...though it is not a terrible issue, muting the speakers causes the mute icon to display on the screen. You'll have to/need to simply turn the TV's volume all the way down to "mute" it. Which brings me to the speakers... let's face it. They are pretty bad. I tried them out before connecting my receiver; there was barely enough power behind them to fill my modestly-sized living room and at the highest volume, the sound was of course garbled and generally unpleasant.

Overall Review: I am a long-time user of Hanns(G or Spree) products; I purchased a 28" LCD monitor about 2 years ago and purchased a second 28" about 1 year ago. This 32" HD television has many of the same great traits that made their 28" such a hot seller here on Newegg... and like those other monitors, I think it'll be difficult for you to find a better TV for this price. Is this TV perfect? Of course not; there are scores of better TVs out there, but after having been to several big box stores and a couple independent video stores, I don't think there are any TVs that offer as much as this one does for as little as this once costs. Price per performance earns this TV 5 eggs.

Pros: I got it for 350 usd and arrived very fast, thanks to Newegg and UPS. The tv is just amazing, I upgraded from a 24inch Asus monitor and my XBOX360 and Blu-ray player just look amazing on it. It's bright and the colors are very good after adjusting, took a while because you can change a lot. DTV looks amazing and I couldn't believe how good Dollhouse looked yesterday. Many inputs, already using 3 out 4 hdmi inputs. Very nice finish and you can turn off the Hannspree sign! The gui is really intuitive.

Cons: Speakers are weak, so hook up a sound system. Changing inputs takes a couple of seconds.

Overall Review: I'm from Germany. Hannspree is pretty well known there (still a cheap brand) and many of my friends bought lcd-screens from this company years ago and they are still working.

Pros: Stunning picture on this badboy! I tested Grid, UT3, TF2, Trine and SF4 1920x1080 60hz and; the images pop off the screen nicely! I'm using it as my primary monitor through hdmi from an 8800GT 512mb and dvi/hdmi converter plug. Like the reviewer before me said it comes with an hdmi cable and a handy cleaning cloth. I did some calibration and here are my picture settings (range visible from 4% white - 96% black!) Bright - 50, Contrast - 66 , Color temp -Cool, Screen mode - PC, Backlight -13 and X-contrast - off. I also have a Samsung LN52-650 and the picture on this rivals it! (minus the 120 Hz soap opera effect) Once again fast and free shipping from NewEgg! :)

Overall Review: This is such a good deal and the viewing angle on this kills my old 20inch Acer wbd. The hdmi cable also carries the sound from my gfx card to the TV. The 3 different equalizer modes (Dynamic, Standard and Soft) sound really good when output to external speakers (I have it set to dynamic).

Pros: Quick shipping (thanks newegg), easy setup, lots of inputs, great price, good picture (both TV and PC), easy to adjust picture.

Cons: Like others said, the speakers leave something to be desired. Power save is also a small hassle, as it completely shuts off the TV instead of just going on standby.

Overall Review: Despite some bad reviews, I bought this TV to use as a main monitor for my PC, and I am not disappointed. I got text to show up perfectly fine after some tweaks. Here's my setup: Geforce 8800gt with Windows 7, hooked up via an HDMI cable. I had to reset cleartype text, and change the font size to 125% (medium) to get it to look reasonable. Also, there is setting in the tv menu for PC input under screen mode. If you don't manually choose this, it doesn't look so great. Gaming with this thing is a blast, the 6ms response has been fine for everything I play, including some FPS's. TV signal looks fine is both SD and HD channels. Have yet to try blu-ray on it.

Pros: I have had the HannsG 28in monitor since last Xmas and love it so I thought I would give this TV a try. So far I have no regrets. After some fine tuning of the settings I've got a fantastic picture with vivid colors. Tons of inputs! I'm currently using 3 of the 4 HDMI ports between my cable box, PS3, and media center PC. I don't even need to tap into the other inputs! I hooked up the cable input just for kicks to see how the built in tuner works and was more than satisfied, but since I have an HD cable box there's no reason to use the TV in that way. Good remote, intuitive menus, excellent speakers in my opinion. It's not home audio sound system of course but they are more that satisfactory for speakers built into an LCD.

Cons: The TV has a high viewing angle, but the picture does wash out as you get to extreme angles. Some TVs I had looked at don't do this (like ones using IPS panels) but since I don't watch the TV from way off to the side I don't consider it much of a problem, but it IS the one thing I would improve on the TV, but was prepared for it to be like this.

Overall Review: Everyone complaining about not being able to get a good picture from their PC is crazy. The trick (and you should have gathered this from other reviews by now) is that you have to hook your PC up via HDMI. This TV, just like most others I've encountered (Samsung for instance) can't do 1920x1080 over the D-Sub (vga) connector. The max I got was 1600x900, which of course ends up getting scaled to fit and gives you an unclear picture. If you're going to use the D-Sub input then set it for 720p (1280x720) and it will scale correctly and give you a good picture.

Pros: I just got this TV a few weeks ago. First impression, it's a really good looking machine with a clean, simple design. Included is everything you need to get started: HDMI cable, batteries for the remote, easy instructions, and even a dust cloth! Within 5 minutes out of the box, I was watching tv. The picture is very solid, and the picture watching non-HD channels is better than many other TVs I looked out.

Cons: None so far- great price, and easy to use.

Overall Review: Since the Hannspree comes with a HDMI cable, all you need to connect the DVI source from your PC is an HDMI to DVI converter which Newegg sells for a few dollars. Enjoy your Hannspree as much as I do. You won't go wrong.
