Pros: I bought this as a replacement when my 4850 suddenly died one day. I wasn't expecting much of a performance gain, but this card pleasantly surprised me. Before, I ran Bad Company 2 at a mix of medium & high settings in DX10.1 mode with noAA, but now I am able to run it maxed-out in DX11 mode with 4xAA & still average the same FPS! When it comes to OCing, the GPU easily went to 960MHz on stock voltage (highest CCC will allow for this card). That's an easy 110MHz gain! Temps get up to 87° when stress testing, but never go beyond 70-ish when gaming. Memory went up to 1290MHz, which isn't quite the 1400MHz I see everybody else running, but all my games run great maxed-out, so who cares?
Cons: There might be something wrong with my card, because it 2D clocks are at 701/1069 rather than 150/300 like they should be. This causes my card to idle at 55° with the auto fan speed at 35%. I could just RMA but I don't think it's worth waiting another week for a new card, so I think I'm just gonna live with it. The non-reference cooler leaves the memory chips & MOSFETs completely exposed and prone to overheating. So I threw some ramsinks on there to be on the safe side.
Overall Review: The rest of my system: C2D E8400 @ 3.6GHz, 4GB DDR2 960 (5-5-5-15), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate P9505 in 3DMark Vantage, and 15340 in 3DMark06! $150 gets you a great, quiet running card that performs like a 4890 once you unlock it's potential through overclocking. You simply can't find a better deal than that!
