~3-Year Usage Life 2/17/2017 10:36:57 AM

Pros: Good price and color quality at the time of purchase. I got this at the time IPS's became standard. It's not suitable for professionals who need good color accuracy, but it's a huge improvement over the previous panels I had. Also has a standard 10ms-ish latency and decent response time for gaming/fast productivity applications.

Cons: About half of one of the screens I bought started exhibiting problems after about 3 years of use, showing pink color tint and odd pixelation on left side, though this issue went away the next day and hasn't come back yet.

Overall Review: I run a 3 monitor setup with 3 of these. The pink tint and pixelation on one of them hasn't come back up yet after it disappeared overnight. (I tested various other input devices and cables to control for that; the problem was definitely in the screen.) One of the other screens has exhibited a buzzing noise while powered on and has done this since day 1, but it was not worth the hassle to replace.

Recommendation: Go for other brands. I have old Acer and Samsung screens that never had issues. Reliability is pretty important in a 3-monitor setup, less you have to replace the whole thing at once.

Update: This review has been revised and updated with additional information since the pink tint went away.

Good while it lasted but LIMITED LIFE SPAN 11/17/2016 5:27:00 PM

Pros: -I got it for $100 plus $10 insurance
-Good monitor for the price
-Decent picture & coloring

Cons: -The picture improved but it needed tweaking from the MENU & drivers
-It died 6 months after warranty (3.5 year later)
-Not built to last
-Did not come with DVI cable

Overall Review: I would of had this as a 4 or 5 star monitor if the life span was longer. If it wasn't for the NewEgg extended warranty it would of changed to a 1 or 2 star rating. Lastly, I paid $128.48 in total but the extended warranty from NewEgg copped-out for $99.99. I would not recommend this monitor nor repurchase it & I'm staying away from NewEgg extended warranties for not keeping their word 100%.

Good Monitor with Short Life 1/29/2016 5:49:55 PM

Pros: This monitor has a great display. It is reflective, but it isn't that bothersome. The colors don't appear washed out.

Cons: After about a year and a half, it started dying randomly and would require replugging to start. After two and a half years, it won't come on at all. I really didn't use it much in that time, so the actual life is probably quite a bit shorter with continuous use.

Excellent monitor at an outstanding price 10/28/2015 12:00:54 PM

Pros: -Great colors and panel display
-Good selection of ports (VGA, DVI, HDMI)
-Very thin and the bezel is barely visible

Cons: -No DisplayPort
-Wish height was adjustable

Overall Review: I ordered this when it was on sale for $110 and I'm glad I did. I've been using it for 10 months and haven't had a single issue.

Good product. Poor reliability. 10/21/2015 8:34:18 PM

Pros: Is a very nice monitor while it lasts

Cons: Within less than a year of use it is already started to develop issues with the lcd. A green/blue hue is covering the right side of the screen and lines that are stretching half the screen. Apparently this is an issue with many monitors of this model and HP doesn't seem to allow for any kind of leniency due to a defective product, like extending a warranty. I guess I'm going to have to get a different one, but it definitely won't be another one of these.

Great if you find it at a good price 9/13/2015 6:10:44 PM

Pros: Monitor is bright, stylish and has plenty of options for connectivity. I got this from a box retailer for $204 and am very happy with it. Colors are spot on and I feel like I can edit photos to better realism with it. I have an older HP 23" LCD that runs on CFL and has about 4400 hours on it. Brightness vs. the two is dramatic as are the colors. If you find this in the $200 range just get it. Great monitor.

Cons: The button/menu system takes some getting used too

Overall Review: Overall a good buy for an IPS panel.

Disappointing Reliability from an HP Product 6/18/2015 5:07:25 PM

Pros: The HP Pavilion 23xi is a great monitor with very good resolution and it offers VGA, DVI, and HDMI inputs.

Cons: Reliability is disappointing. After a year of use, the left side of the screen started flickering and developing a pink hue on 1/3 of the screen. Resolution was not significantly effected so it was usable but now, after only 2 years of use, the Pink hue has enveloped the whole screen and text is hard to read as it appears to be blurring.

Overall Review: In researching the issue, this appears to be a common issue for this particular monitor. I have been reasonably happy with HP products and I generally associate HP as a trusted brand that you can trust but I think this is a defective model and is not representative of HP's standards of quality.
