Sorry! It's not rechargeable. It is a battery powered mouse.

Where do you find the drivers for this mouse? I cannot even locate the product on HP's website.

This mouse should not need drivers. When I paired it with my Windows RT table, it just started working. I just had to search for it over bluetooth. Look for it in your Device Manager (Google "Device Manager" if you're not familiar with it), and see if your computer can detect it at all. If you can find it there, it might have some generic name and a asterisk symbol on it, right click on it and select "Update Driver" and, in the driver wizard, choose for to let Windows find the driver using Windows Update. It should find the drive you need.

You may also try troubleshooting your bluetooth adapter.

Yes, it takes two AA batteries. The top cover of the mouse that ends in a V shape can be removed.

I'm sure it would work on a Mac, since it's a basic bluetooth mouse, but I have not tried it myself.

I see the left and right buttons, on top; what is button #3? In specific, I do NOT see a button for the thumb, usually used as a "go back" button while browsing. Is there one?
Also, can the scrolling wheel be pressed down, to activate a control similar to the Logitech "Setpoint" system, which places a 4-direction arrow on the screen, allowing one to scroll by moving the cursor relative to that arrow?

No thumb button. The third button is the scroll wheel. In Win7, pressing it down as you describe activates the four-way scroll feature.
