Does this come with a power supply? Also, there a need for an adapter for the HDs or can I just insert as they are? Thanks.

There is a power supply suitable to run up to one optical drive and up to four hard drives (or four SSD's).

If you are using standard SATA 3.5Inch hard drives they will slip right into the provided rack without a problem. If you want to use SSD or standard 2.5 inch hard rives you should get a carrier (available as an option from HP - I tried another brand and they would not align with the SATA connectors properly). If you are not afraid of making your own support then all you really need is a support for the rear of the drive and a steady hand to insert the 2.5" format drives into the SATA connectors The unit I had would not support M.2 style SSDs.

We use the CentOS 7 Server Operating system without issues and it seems to be a good fit for our use.
