Question 1

What is the best way to use headphones with this? I have a nice pair but they are wired.

If the headphones have a regular 1/8" stereo jack, one of the wires coming off the headset itself is a socket for them.  The headset's link box will then decode audio portion of the signal from HDMI and send it to those headphones.

If the headset is USB, then that would have to be plugged into the PC directly and you'd have to set the SteamVR app to output sound to that.  It would be pretty unwieldy doing this, though, as you really don't to be tethered to your PC with more cords than the Vive already requires.

Question 2

Does this come with only a HDMI connection, or does it have a DisplayPort connection?

It came only with an HDMI connection, but it does support DisplayPort. DP support is a little spotty for some users from what I've heard, but it may have been fixed by now as they're constantly updating the steamvr software.

Does this come with headphones?

It comes with earbuds. Standard headphone jack so you're free to add/pick your own - I chose to use over the ear headphones for better immersion and the fact that they stay on my head better than earbuds when my head and body is moving around.

Question 4

Will purchasing this bundle give me everything I need to play? Will I have to purchase other elements separately?

You need a computer of course, and a high-end graphics card (I can recommend the GeForce 1080). You will also want headphones, although almost anything with a short cord will do. Some games require a controller (like a USB XBox controller), but for most games the Vive comes with everything you need.

how much space do i need to use this ?

About the size of a queen sized bed is optimal, but king size bed is best. It can still work with a twin, but not as fun. Also you can just use it while sitting at desk

Does this only work on PC? Or can I use my Xbox to play it?

PC ONLY, check system requirements. Xbox does not have a VR platform as of yet.

Question 7

Is the HTC Vive - Virtual Reality Headset going to be available to use on any game?  I've lost one eye.  I don't suppose I can get the same experience as other people with 2 eyes.  Would it be worth my while to still get this?

The VIVE, and with the other VR headsets, only work with games specifically built for VR. Typically you can go on Steam and check out the virtual reality section just to see what is available.

As for the eye question, just tried it with one eye closed and it does give the same experience. Honestly speaking, your brain will react the same way everyone's brain will when in VR (it will be convinced you're there after awhile). That said, two eyes gives you a full scope of the environment, but merely turning your head will bring you to the same conclusion as everyone else when playing in VR.

Since I have not tried any of these yet. Wondering if they work with people that have to wear glasses?

There are knobs on both sides that slide the lenses front and back to accommodate glasses.

Buy it!  Monitors are passé--this is an totally awesome experience.

The hand controllers are amazing --you see you hands and legs moving.

Oculus has no hand controllers --get this unit.

I love it.  The X Box inks covered in dust.

can I jack this thing into my 5.1 sound set-up ?

You can use whatever audio setup you'd like. The headset also has an audio jack built in, intended for headphones. 5.1 surround will work, but headphones with virtual surround will work better, because the 3d audio software VR games use tracks the position of your headset precisely and is meant to be used with an on-ear audio solution.

Does this still come with Job Simulator, Tilt Brush and that other game?

No. It now comes with Tilt Brush, The Gallery: Call of Starseed Episode 1, and Zombie Invasion Simulator (or something like that).
