Great at XMP profiles, plenty of OC headroom9/24/2014 5:46:21 AM
Pros: Solid heatsink dissipates heat better. Beautifully designed. Very stable when OC'd. 2 XMP profiles of 2133MHz (Profile 1) and 1600MHz (Profile 2).
Cons: Timings are a bit high for the voltage rating. This set is a single rank vs. the dual rank I already had. The result was BSODs. Heavy testing was done with each set and neither had any problems.
BSOD @2133 on ASROCK Extreme6 A88x2/18/2014 3:25:55 PM
Pros: When clocked down to 1600, the RAM works just fine on the ASrock 88x extreme 6 with the AMD AK 7850k.
Cons: In the BIOS i set the RAM to 2133 as per specs, and it seemed to boot up just fine. Windows runs for 2 minutes before it BSOD. Processor used is the A10-7850K which does support 2133. In short, this memory is NOT a good match for the ASRock FM2A88X Extreme6+ if you want 2133.
Overall Review: Shame on newegg memory finder for claiming the 2133 works on the ASRock FM2A88X Extreme6+. Good memory - fail on Neweggs part.

Manufacturer Response:
Hi, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance. Your ASRock FM2A88X Extreme6+ states in it's manually that it supports up to 2600Mhz overclocking. It also states that only two DIMMs are supported with overclocking frequencies and it is recommended to install them in memory slots DDR3_A2 and DDR3_B2. If you have not already, I would recommend reseating the memory into those slots and then set the proper timings for the 2133 specification. For any further assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you. Please be sure to have the part in question on hand when you call.
Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.
Pros: Had tried similar speed hyper 2 x 2 gigs...both work flawlessly... finally after trying multiple motherboards was able to break the 1800 MHz barrier through one crucial timing setting increase... stock speeds as advertised amd fx 8150 in asrock extreme 3 990fx.. ht link 2600 MHz.. processor my bottle neck at this point
Cons: After viewing the Kingston product spec PDF ... I realized one timing was missing in available xmp profile isted in motherboard bios and needing increase... the downloadable PDF listed this timing setting as 7 but it was for 1333 MHz... this timing, can't rememer which one.. it was like the last line in the available PDF needed to be increased to 9 from 7 on my particular setup.. easily and quickly move to 2133 MHz from 1600 MHz and of course I used all the other xmp profile recommended timings
Pros: Fast enough for my purposes without breaking the bank. It's like budget steroids, but in RAM form. The price is good for what you get.
Cons: I know that I'll feel limited shortly by the 4GB+4GB size of this kit.
Overall Review: This kit is fast, cheap, and good. Usually you have to pick 2 from that list. Size does matter, but for 8GB out of the box, you could do worse than what I'm thinking about doing - buying another one of these kits and bumping your rig to 16GB before upgrading to different memory somewhere down the line.
