Pros: It is still working strong almost 2 years later.
Cons: 2 eggs deducted because they have tripled the price on this since i bought it. It's stupidly insane and unjustified.
Pros: Good price
Performs well at 800MHZ, 9, 9, 9, 27, 1.65 volts
Red heat spreaders look really sweet
Cons: As some others have said, I wonder if those shiny red spreaders are really dissipating any heat...
There is faster ram in a similar price range, but people were having a LOT of DOA's on the G skill ones and that's why I went with these. In the long run these seem to be of a higher quality build and since I already had one DOA for this build(mobo) I wanted to stick with something solid.
Overall Review: Gives a 7.5 windows experience index in Windows 7 Ultimate x64
This is some "mid range" ram. According to passmark's performance test, it sits right in the middle of the road. Get it when it's on sale and it's a great value for a nice 8 gig kit.
I suspect I could probably get away with overclocking it some, I may try that soon.
MAKE SURE IT IS CONFIGURED CORRECTLY IN YOUR BIOS. For instance on my Asrock board it defaulted to DDR1033, 11, 11, 11, 39 If that happens to you and you don't make sure to check you will be wasting potential.
Pros: doesn't get hot
Was at it's advertised speed on boot up.
Pros: Great price
Above average performance
Overall Review: This was my first time around with Kiungston HyperX memory and I was pleasantly surprised at how well this memory performed.
The memory had no issues running at it's rated XMS specs though I found that a slight bump in voltage allowed them to run with much tighter timings/spec. And so I have nothing but good things to say about this particular memory. - excellent value
Cons: -None at all! Brings tears to my eyes!
Pros: ~ Doesn't hurt the wallet.
~ Good speeds
~ Appealing to the eye.
Cons: No reason to take an egg off for it. But back in the day I remember getting case badges even with cheaper ram. No case badge =/
Overall Review: Works good, fast, cheap and looks good. My mom needed a new computer so she could use MS Office, web surfing and emailing. So picked this ram up for a budget build. Glad I did and probably will pick up another set for her eventually as well. As usual with a lot of AMD builds, had to set it a@1600 in BIOS.
Pros: This memory works great with my Gigabyte GA_990 and 970 UD3 mother boards.
I am running a 265 FSB speed. The memory that came with the board as a promotion would not run past 1030 FSB no matter how lax I set the timings. Even tried 2 other sets of that other memory.
This HyperX red is working in both boards at 1413mz-8 8 8 24
I had it over 1800mz but had errors at that speed.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: I bought 2 sets and they are running in the two Gigabyte boards with AMD 6 core 1045T @ 3577mz, mem @ 1413mz 8 8 8 24
15,000 ppd F@H not bad at all.
Pros: Kingston lifetime warranty
Cons: None that I am aware of - as always Newegg ships quickly and Kingston offers a lifetime warranty. How can you lose?
Overall Review: My motherboard only had two DDR slots but certainly made my HTPC run MUCH faster. I am now able to play *some* games online. Before this upgrade the page file access was brutal in most games I tried even though I have a decent video card in the machine.
