It should, i am currently using the memory in a Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P. It combines well with other memory brands and have been using it for more than a  year and no issues. It is overclock-able, but i prefer to keep it at stock speeds. Still even with a burn in test the memory was very stable so it should work perfectly in your board

Wouldn't it be better to buy a matching kit of 2, rather than buying 2 single pack kits? what if they are not compatible? it says newegg does not guarantee compatibility of combos.

RAM is RAM, as long as it is the same type.. 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) is compatible with another chip of the identical type (DDR3 1600) (DDR3). A 2 pack would be nice, but what if you only need one chip... now you have another one to sit in a draw.. Ram rarely goes bad.. You may never use it at all. singles give you a choice.

No, you need 204-pin RAM, this is 240-pin. Additionally, that model MacBook Pro only supports 4GB RAM in each slot. It has 2 slots, so you can put in a total of 8GB RAM, but it would need to be two 4GB modules.

Yes, it is SDRAM DDR3. It's speed (1600) is at the low end of what the motherboard can do.

Yes, it is non-ECC and unbuffered. Your HP will take two of these for a total of 16 gb (max memory). You need to be running a 64 bit operating system or it won't see anything over 3.6 gb. Since that HP has dual memory architecture, it is better to run two sticks at a time, either two 4 gb sticks or two 8 gb sticks for optimal memory speeds. If it already has one 4 gb stick, I'd just buy another matching 4 gb stick, since very few users actually need more than 8 gb (need as in use).

Yes, this ram will work, pretty much all ram for desktops will work that is not ddr4, all ddr3 should work. But an easy way to be sure to looks for the number of pins. This has 240-pin, standard for ddr3 and Z97 mobos have that ram configuration.

Would the 4gb version of this stick be compatible with the same 8gb stick? or do I have to buy the same 8 gb stick?

It really depends on the type of board and how old it is  Generally it is compatible, however if your board needs paired memory it could be a problem.  But as I said generally you can.

I would suggest just looking up the model of your board, if you dont know there is a program called AIDA64, the trial edition will give you most of the information you need to look up the board.  Its an excellent program too if you need to buy, but trial will work fine.

As for the memory sticks, I've been using HyperX sticks for a long time and they rule!  I've never had a problem with them.

its low profile, I took mine from a full board machine to a micro atx and new smaller case. I didnt have any problems with memory now heatsink LOL that a whole 'nother story :)

Yes it will work, you won't be able to run the maximum speed allowed on this ram, so it will clock down to match mobo, but it'll work just fine.

Usually check mobo for max or standard memory speed and capacity and look for memory off those, ddr3 are all compatible, so faster rams can match slower speeds.
