Pros: Slid right in, no screws, no fus no muss
Cons: It did not install itself automatically.
Overall Review: No matter a 7 or 9 mm drive, both fit without hasle or adapters.
Slides into the average 3.5" bay without any screws.
Pros: - Installs quickly.
- Adds space for up to 2 SSDs.
- I bought it on sale
Cons: - None
Overall Review: - Useful item. Holds my OS SSD.
Pros: - Easily re purpose 5.25 bay to install additional hard drives.
- Mounts easily and fits standard 5.25 bay.
Cons: - The front facing material is what I would call "brushed plastic". The manufacturer tries to give it a "brushed metal" look. However, the color is a bit too light and does not match my Airsick 300 case.
Overall Review: - This is a very useful addition.
Pros: Fits perfectly in my mini-ITX case. I have a 256GB Crucial M4 SSD installed in the top slot, and a 750GB 7200RPM 2.5" laptop drive in the bottom slot. Drives installed very easily and are secure. Plan to buy another one.
Pros: Works very well. Like the tool-less design and it slides into the bay on my DF-85 nicely from the front or the back. Holds the drives quite snugly and looks great in the case. Very sturdy construction, worth every penny.
Cons: doesn't come with ssds for that price :)
Pros: Does exactly what it's supposed to.
Cons: Front door doesn't allow for any airflow, which COULD be an issue if you use a normal 2.5" drive and have a fan in front of it, like I do.
Overall Review: I used this on my antec 900 and while it didn't lock in 100% snug, it's tight enough that I didn't have to bolt it in. I went from two old 3.5" drives to an ssd and a 500gb seagate momentus, dropped the cases total weight by about 4-5 lbs. Also looks a bit cleaner, increases airflow and makes swapping drives considerably easier. I don't think I'm ever going back to 3.5".
Pros: Excellent idea. I had two laptop hard-drives from old laptops we were no longer using, but they had pictures and other files on them that we wanted to keep. I was able to use this mounting bracket to secure both hard drives in a desktop computer and it worked great. The bracket even fit fine in an internal 3.5" bay (which I was worried about).
Cons: The front bracket opens just easy enough that it took a few tries to get the bracket to fit correctly into the bay. They could have added a little metal clip that secured the bracket in place and it wouldn't have negatively impacted the pleasant design.
Overall Review: The design is great and price is excellent. The minor issue I had definitely did not detract from my overall rating.
Pros: Holds 2 SSDs securely without tools, allowing for quick swapping of drives without having to mess with screws.
Cons: Half-height (0.28") SSD's like the Samsung 840 are held solidly on the side with the spring and flop loosely on the side without, but unless you're planning on sticking your case in a dryer that won't matter for average use.
Overall Review: Other users have mentioned that the bracket is constructed funny and mounts the drives halfway down where the power and SATA cables can't reach- just turn the bracket around and it reaches just fine with the ports perfectly lined up.
I did have some trouble trouble fitting this unit into the 3.5" drive bays for my HAF 922- one of the pins on the tool-less drive adapter came out while installing the drive and had to be re-inserted back into the adapter. But once that was taken care of, everything was peachy.
The PLASTIC spring holding the drive in place is not strong enough to hold the drive in place while you're plugging in your power or SATA cables- but you just have to hold the drive in place by hand and they install just fine. Still worth 5 stars!
