Could this fit in regular desktop case?

I installed this into a Corsair Carbide Air 540.
this case uses a quick release type mount.

Because there are little metal tabs inside the Air 540's 5.25" bays to help load balance and align between where the drives go you cannot install this module.
the tabs do line up with the visible slot cut into this module on the side but the tabs were too deep to let it slide in.

I cut the tabs off from my case with the all mighty dremel and this module slid right in.

If you have a case that does not have quick release drive bays and there are no obstructions in the 5.25" bays (just a perfectly smooth cube area) then yes you should be able to fit this. Be sure to check the area of clearance behind your bays. this module is pretty deep.

this is a great product! it's sad to see so many cases using QR vs god old screws.
