What type of power supply does this come with, 110 or 220?

Mine came with a 100-240V 50/60Hz power supply meaning it will work in either as long as you have the correct outlet or an adapter.  And that's probably what your actual question is. :-)  Mine came with the NEMA plug (thin prongs) like you'd expect in North America, apparently some recent ones have come with CEE 7 plugs (cylindrical prongs) like you'd find in Europe.  Icy Dock will send you the NEMA one for free since this version of the product is intended for the North American market and this was a packaging error on their part.

what is the largest hard drive this dock can be used with?

James: 1. physical size - will accept 2.5" and 3.5";  2. Storage size - does not limit storage capacity of the drive(s), however don't expect really fast read or response times since it is via USB.  Please take the time to spend a little more money and get an enclosed dock if you can - some that take SATA and IDE are still available and will save you some headaches dealing with this 'prop it on your desktop however you can without destroying your drive' dock.  It is very small and does not offer any stability or active cooling when you need to run a drive this route for any length of time.

will this definitely come with a US adapter and not a European adapter?

Yes it hooks up great for SATA and IDE  drives. I have not been able to make the software read my older IDE drives. It is really good with SATA and I only have one IDE drive so I haven't worked on that one too much.

It's an   IDE drive so as long as you use the adapter WITH the 4pin molex connector and ac power supply it should work just fine

Does this have a "green" feature built in that spins down an attached hard drive after a certain amount of time, to save power?  Hopefully not, because regularly spinning a drive up and down significantly decreases the life of the hard drive.

I don't believe the device has any green features, it's all controlled by the OS and system.  I have never had my drives spin down while using this device.  I have my windows power options set to high performance never sleep.  Also if necessary you can turn off power management on the USB root hub.  Device Manger, USB Root Hub, Power Management, uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.  Honestly you won't want to be using this device for prolonged usage, it's not an actual dock, you have to connect it and prop up the drive in a safe position.  However it's very useful in transferring data from older IDE drives to new systems.

Can I use this to connect a Dell Dimension XPS T450 hard drive to a Vista or Win7 computer?

Yes, this has been a fantastic device for slaving to XP, Vista, Win7 for IDE & SATA. Win 8 and 8.1 will not recognize IDE. I work in IT and this device has been a saving grace, I recommend it to peers and clients.

I'm running Ubuntu 15.04 and I've had to keep an eye out for compatibility. With that being said, is this compatible with Linux based OS?

Laton P,  I can't promise compatibility, but I will tell you that this device is really only a physical (wires/connectors) interface to put your external drives on USB.  If you can plug USB drives into your system and have them recognized as such, I would guess this will work.  But maybe check the return policy to be sure? :)  Good luck!

Will this work with Windows 8.1?  All that's mentioned is that it was designed for PCs and Macs.

Does anyone know if this device will allow you to read SMART data from the connected drives?

This, as with all docks that connect to the computer using USB, does not have the ability to read SMART data from the drive.  If you can find a dock that connects with eSATA, it probably will do what you want.

Will this docking station be compatible with a Western Digital Enhanced  IDE hard drive? 120 GB

Yes, it works with 3.5" and 2.5" IDE drives.
