Is this line of site or can I have the unit in a closet and still transmit to the projector?

It can be in a closet, lectern, etc. You just need to make sure you have good signal strength. It works just like a wireless access point.

I would like to know the range of distance which this will transmit/receive the signal from the computer to the receiver?

I have used it up to 50ft away line of sight without issue.

I'm still confused about what is transmitting the vga signal to the adapter? I see what looks like a usb dongle in some pictures. Is that the transmitter. Also, what is the likely distance that this will work if there is not direct line of sight?

It sends the signal from your laptop to this unit via the network, wireless or wired, your choice. The usb key is if someone not from your business or home wants to connect but doesn't have the software

How I can use website or normal internet wifi while I am using the Liteshow III projector?

You can use it via wifi or hard wired. Just plug the unit into your current network.

can you get more than one flash drive per receiver?

You receive one but can duplicate it to any flash drives you may have laying around you want to devote to that purpose.
