CES 2013 rumors

By January 7, 2013December 5th, 2017No Comments

The International Consumer Electronics Show is one of the biggest tech expos of the year, and 2013’s edition is no different than its predecessors. Consumers are waiting with bated breath for the conference, and manufacturers are expected to unveil new devices.

This year’s CES will likely be the biggest in recent memory. While not every rumor surrounding the event will hold true, there are many new gadgets you should be anticipating. Let’s take a look at some of the devices that are likely to come out of CES.

HTC debuting new phones
The landscape of the smartphone world is rapidly changing, and HTC seems primed to be the first manufacturer to make major waves in 2013. The phone giant is expected to debut two Windows 8 phones at CES: the HTC Zenith and HTC Titan III. These will be two of the biggest phones HTC has ever produced – the Zenith will reportedly feature a 4.7-inch screen!

Another key takeaway from the murmurings around the new phones is that HTC is intent on being a major player with both Android and Windows 8. The company recently released the Droid DNA and HTC One X+, both of which run on Android operating system.

Ultra-HDTVs
These Ultra HDTVs are slimmer, lighter and larger than the televisions that you may used to. Showcased by Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Sony so far, these Ultra HDTVs will be sure to make a splash in the market this year. These televisions have 8 million pixels and will provide an immersive television viewing experience.

Samsung not holding back
While Apple continues to dominate the market with its devices, other manufacturers have been scrambling to catch up. However, Samsung seems poised to knock Apple off of its lofty pedestal.

Although the Samsung Galaxy SIV will not be making an appearance, another member of the Galaxy family may be revealed: a 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note. Supposedly, the Note will feature a 1280×800 display, 1.6GHz Exynos 4412 processor, and Jelly Bean.

Who won’t be there
Samsung, Sony and LG are all scheduled to appear at CES, but some major names are sitting out. Apple and Microsoft won’t be at the conference, and Research in Motion will only have a limited presence because it scheduled an event on January 30 for the release of BlackBerry 10.

CES is tomorrow, and anticipation is reaching a fever pitch. What are you most excited about for 2013’s conference? Do you think there are any big surprises in store?
