Have you heard of this movie series called Star Wars?
Apparently it’s a big deal. Just look at all the Star Wars toys there are!
All kidding aside, Star Wars is bigger than it has ever been in 2016. Star Wars collectibles have been hot for decades, but things are kicking into high gear as the new films are released and a whole new generation gets to fall in love with the franchise in theaters.
In that spirit, we’re very pleased to announce a new set of Star Wars keychains themed around the famous Battle of Hoth from The Empire Strikes Back. The keychains are a limited edition set, only 5,000 of which have been made. The keychains are enamel set on metal, and feature a Rebel snowspeeder, the Emblem of the Rebel Alliance, and an Imperial Walker. They’re officially licensed by Disney and produced by Plasticolor, a specialist in automotive accessories.
A Star Wars history lesson
For those who haven’t seen The Empire Strikes Back in a while, here’s a refresher straight from Wookiepedia:
The Battle of Hoth was a historic confrontation between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War in which Imperial forces, led by the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader, invaded the Rebellion’s Echo Base on the ice planet Hoth after less than a month of its habitation by the Alliance. The overwhelming Imperial invasion would force the rebellion to abandon its holdings on Hoth and scatter the Alliance Fleet across the galaxy.
The complete set of keychains is $29.99, but you’ll want to act fast: once Star Wars collectors find out about these things, who knows how long they’ll last?
