It’s hard to believe but it’s been 22 years since Mario Kart first appeared on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Looking back, I can’t think of any other game I enjoyed playing so much as a kid. I vividly remember spending countless hours hurling turtle shells and dodging banana peels as I raced against my friends into the wee hours of the night.

If you’re like me, you’re probably looking forward to purchasing a copy of Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U when it’s released on May 30, 2014. The only problem is that you may not be able to get it. The game is in so much demand that pre-orders are selling out a rapid pace from retailers all around the world – except at Newegg, of course.

We’re not only stocked up and ready to supply the game to our customers, but we’re also giving away a free $5 gift card to anyone that pre-orders it on newegg.com. This is a limited time offer so you need to act fast and order as soon as possible. And don’t worry about us putting the game on sale after you order it; this is backed by Newegg’s Low Price Guarantee! We’ll monitor your purchase for any price decreases and will honor the final price of the item if it’s lower than the price at pre-order.

So what are you waiting for? Supplies are limited so pre-order your copy of Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U and get a head start against your friends.

Turn Your Racing Experience Upside Down!

For the first time, Nintendo’s Mario Kart franchise comes to the Wii U console in full HD, introducing new racing circuit designs and anti-gravity karts that will have players driving upside down. Players will also enjoy a variety of series-favorite features, including the return of 12-player online competitive play, hang-gliders, underwater racing and motorbikes.

Features:

  • The new anti-gravity feature allows for never-imagined racing circuit designs. Players will speed through courses and find themselves suddenly racing on walls in a haunted mansion or upside-down over Princess Peach’s Castle as their wheels automatically rotate and shift into anti-gravity gear.
  • Mario Kart TV lets players share highlight videos they submitted to Miiverse.
  • Experience a wealth of features that span the series, including 12-player online competitive play. Elements first introduced in Mario Kart 7, such as hang gliders and underwater racing, along with elements introduced in Mario Kart Wii, such as motorbikes and performing tricks in mid-air, also make their return.
  • Fan-favorites Waluigi and Toadette re-join the cast of familiar characters from the Mushroom Kingdom.
  • Crisp HD graphics and a 60-frames-per-second frame rate offer players the most visually stunning entry in the series yet.
