Specs don't say whether this is SATA III or PCI-Express 2.0?

Basically M.2 was formerly know as NGFF (Next Generation Form Factor), which is intended to replace mSATA.  Also the speeds of M.2 are able to handle speeds nearly 3 time faster than SATA III.

The M.2 is connected directly to the PCI-E bus, bypassing a SATA controller allowing the faster speeds.  A handful of newer motherboards have the M.2 slot.

So the complete answer is, it is neither SATA III nor PCI-Express 2.0, but rather just M.2

Is it a good idea to use it as a boot drive?

There is no reason it could not be used as a boot drive, however, unless you have two in a RAID 1 configuration, if for some reason the SSD drive fails, you had better make sure you have made a backup and have performed at least one restore test to guarantee the viability of your bsckup/restore process. 
To date, I haven't had any failure, and it does not seem to heat up, so I am happy with it.  I use it as part of a tiered storage repository cache system, so for my purposes, i can suffer a failure with only performance degradation as a worst case scenario.

I have the 480Gb size one and its great. the only difference would would be the size; the Read/Write speeds are essentially the same.

does only the ssd comes in that package nothing else in the box ??

When mine arrived it was sealed in a static packet inside the box. There was nothing else included. FWIW I just installed on my ASUS H97I motherboard and it was recognized immediately. I set it up as I would any other SSD. That was a few months ago and it has performed flawlessly to date.

Is this compatible with AMD processors?

As long as your motherboard has a M.2 slot available you should be fine.

Also to note/consider is if this SSD is used on most motherboards it will usually render 2 of your SATA ports inoperable.

So, this is a special kind of SSD, at the time I purchased this device, there were no larger capacity SSDs sold by this company and they certainly were much more expensive.  This board can only be used in very special cases, it is not compatible with the standard SATA connection.  I have used it in specialized motherboards that are compatible with the M.2 MLC internal SSDs and it is used for cache purposes.
If you are looking for large capacity SSDs, look elsewhere.

My best advice is for you to search around the web and see what many of the hardware sites say about this drive. This drive is rated in the top 3-5 (if not at the top) of many reviewer's postings.

Does this product fit on Lenovo Y510P's ngff slot? Is it oversized?

I don't know about that specific slot, but the drive fits in normal 2.5" laptop  hard drive slots.
