Does this item come with a stock fan?  It is not listed under the specs.

Yes, it comes with a heatsink and fan (all Intel boxed CPUs come with them, I believe). The one included with with i7-4770 is a standard aluminum radial cooler with a copper insert and pre-applied thermal compound, secured to the motherboard with push-pins.

Yes, this came with a heat sync for me.  I understand a lot of people like to use bigger/better heat syncs, but the stock one has been working perfectly for me for almost a year now.

Could I install this on a 2 generation motherboard from dell?

If it does not have a socket for LGA 1150, then it will work on your 2 generation motherboard from dell.

What kind of psu would you recommend for this processor? I'm doing a new build and will also be running a higher end video card. I currently have a 750W psu from my old system that I want to use (to save some money) but I don't know if it will be sufficient. I know that my old psu maxes out at 62 amps on the 12v rail. I'm worried it won't be able to handle my new build.

I believe you would be fine functionally with your power supply.

However I personally upgraded to a Seasonic x series 850 because i was purchasing a high end video card with intent to later upgrade to dual video cards. The build quality on this series is stunning and very quiet and the modular design is useful. But one must expect to pay a little more for it..although I'm sure it will last.

Yes. The chip comes with a decent heatsink.  There is also a thermal adhesive on the bottom of the heatsink that has been pre-applied. I have not had any heat issues with the stock heatsink and pre-applied thermal adhesive.

It comes with a stock heatsink and fan. Since this isn't unlocked for overclocking, you shouldn't need much more (imo) as long as your computer has good airflow. I have the stock fan and sink on mine, and it'll run fine for several hours at 80-90% without coming close to overheating

Yes.  It keeps temp good for normal usage and decent case fan arrangement.  84W helps a lot. I probably would replace fan/heatsink for a lot of heavy duty CPU applications like gaming, etc...

Yes it does!  It comes with Intels stock cooler which does a decent job.  Since this processor can't be over clocked, the stock cooler is fine.  If you are looking to over clock you will need to get the "k" processor.  The stock on the k series processor is still fine unless you really are pushing the processor.

I purchased the the i7-4770 processor for a similar board.  I purchased the GA-Z87MX-D3H.  The key information to determine if your processor will work with your motherboard is to look at first the socket type.  In this case the socket is the LGA 1150.  The other piece of information is the motherboard chipset.  The chipset used here is the Z87.  The Z87 supports some additional features like SLI that the other x87 series chipsets might not offer.  In addition the Z87 chipset supports overclocking of the processor provided that the processor supports overclocking.  The i7-4770 has a locked clock and so does not support overclocking.  To overclock you would need the i7-4770K model, but you will lose virtualization instructions in that model.

To answer your question directly and succinctly: Yes, the i7-4770 works with the GA-Z87M-D3H.
