Does this processor work well for a Game based server PC? ( Minecraft,GMod CT)

I don't know what the f*ck the people are taking about above. The i7-950 IS a quad-core, and a powerful one at that, even by today's standards. What Adrian said is true, those games listed won't take full advantage of the multiple cores, or even the Hyper-threading, that being said, we are moving into an era of gaming where many WILL use those extra cores, so if you can find a good deal on one of these procs (less than $150) snatch it up, that's what I did, and I couldn't be happier.

Charles is wrong, this is not a 4th Gen (Haswell) Processor. It is an older processor, about 3 years old, but don't let that fool you, it's still a powerhouse.

my mother board is dead.will this core work in a evga z97?

Absolutely not. z97 is an Intel motherboard, this is an AMD cpu. AMD cpus will not work in intel motherboards.
