Intel EXPI9400PT Gigabit Copper Connection for Servers 10/100/1000Mbps PCI-Express 1 x RJ45

Pros: This thing really made a huge difference. I know, I know, it says "server NIC" on the box and all, but it has what I wanted. My connection has been insanely solid and snappy compared to the on-board NIC I was using. Installation was painless and I *love* the diagnostic tools built into the drivers. They tell me my cable is healthy, my connection is strong and even how long the cable is! Just nice to have this.

Cons: None. Absolutely none. Even the price isn't a con for me. I am finding this NIC to be very much worth the price I paid for it.

Overall Review: Installed in an Asus P6T with 6GB RAM, Core i7 920 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. If you are considering this card, stop right there and order it now. You -WILL- be happy you got this. Also... first NIC I have ever owned with a heatsink on it. ;)

Pros: Bought this card after installing ubuntu linux on a Dell PE 410T server and had issues with the broadcom on board nic. Inserted this card, booted the system, it recognized it and I was on the internet.

Cons: None but the price ;)

Pros: Revived an old Windows Server 2012 server with this card. It worked fine right out of the box. No need to install driver. Performance seems fine.

Cons: The Intel website shows this card as a workstation card, not a server card. The server cards have more than one port. The Newegg site caused some confusion because it calls this a server card. I spent time unnecessarily looking for driver software. Docked one egg because the operating system compatibility and name of the product are not specified clearly in the title and product description.

Overall Review: I think the card was a reasonable value. I trust the Intel brand and wasn't disappointed that installation was seamless.

Pros: Low profile compatibility More stable than the onboard NIC, at least with OpenBSD/Opnsense

Cons: Does not come with the low-profile bracket.

Overall Review: This is a good card and works fine. However, be aware that even though they say the card is low profile compatible, the card does not come with the low profile bracket. Upon contacting the seller, this is the response: Thanks for contacting us regarding this NIC. Sorry for any confusion, the description explaining low-profile compatibility is describing the half-sized form factor of the card. Unfortunately we don't have a low-profile adapter kit available to ship out. I will add that they were willing to accept the card as a return even though there is technically nothing wrong with the card, so props to the seller for this. I was also able to find the bracket on elsewhere for 99 cents with free shipping (Item 172316159272 at the online auction house that begins with e and ends with bay), but YMMV. If that link does not work, searching said online auction site (NewEgg does now allow for the name to be in the reviews) for "low-profile bracket EXPI9400PT" should return a few different results, ranging from 99 cents to one dollar, and free shipping to six dollars.

Pros: Nice and hard. Works fine so far. Especially the installation CD program is great! With the new driver program, you can make a TEAM network if your computer have two or more INTEL Pro LAN cards.

Cons: not yet.

Pros: Works with VMware ESX servers. Does what it is supposed to. I mainly purchased this NIC for it's use in a VMware ESX server I have. Not knowing 100% if it would work or not. I am here to say that it works 100%.

Cons: None so far. Maybe the price, in comparison to a standard 10/100/1000 NIC.

Pros: Linux compatibility Consistent and Reliable

Pros: These have been working just fine. I bought them for my home server/test lab. Obviously they are only 1Gbps, but they work fine for as many vm's as i want to throw at them for my home lab. No issues passing them through to a vm or just allowing over 100 bridged vms. Intel never seems to disappoint on the NIC side. CPU's are a different story.

Cons: None yet. Really great cards, not even for the price, just really great cards.
