Yes it did. Another of my products, unfortunately, didn't work, so I haven't been able to test out how well it works. But yes, it came with its own cooler.

I don't recommend this processor for gaming. You can, but you need an i3 at least to play at HD resolution whit low setting. My advice is, first you have to know the native resolution of you tv or monitor and second what type of game do you play. This gtx with 3gb is going to be OK with an i5 for play in  full HD whit maximum settings in almost everything.

Yes. Any standard DDR4 ram will work with any Skylake CPU as long as the motherboard you have supports DDR4. Almost all Skylake LGA1151 motherboards support DDR4, however a rare few use DDR3L instead. So best to check that and be safe.

I understand that this CPU can not be pared with DDR4 2400... if one only has DDR4 2400, is the processor compatible if the ram is down-clocked to a slower speed?

I built me a work computer based around the i7 and when the prices skyrocketed i bought this G4400 as a temporary processor. I am using gskill ram F4-3200C16D-16GVKB DDR4 3200 and it worked fine. I think your motherboard will take care of setting the correct clock speed for your system. If you are putting this processor in temporarily, until for whatever reason you are thinking of upgrading in the near future, i would say you are fine. If not i would highly suggest using the appropriate ram for your processor.

just installed this processor and there is no signal. I used an HDMI cable. Any ideas as to what I should do next?

if you can go into the bios screen then its probably a setting in the bios menu try loading defaults and reboot if you cant get in to bios screen then you should try reinstalling CPU might not be seated on pins well if you have no video signal, what about beep codes ? or try memory moving re installing memory card or try a different hdmi cable if you know your hardware is good

Can the onboard graphics smoothly play streaming or downloaded video at 4k?  Has anyone even done this with 60Hz video?

I have a 4k monitor. It goes really smoothly with it and the intel graphics. Don't expect using 4K resolution for gaming, you would need a dedicated Card.

anyone running linux come with this? is good performance?

Using Fedora Linux, but had to add an inexpensive $35 low profile graphic card. Intel has not provided linux graphic drivers for this chip as yet. Very fast with graphic card.
