Question 1

Three Questions: 1) Is this CPU suitable for a gaming/work PC configuration? 2) Is this CPU 7th generation? 3) Does this CPU support hyperthreading?

I have mine running on liquid cooling, but with pcmark 8 it scores between 3890-4140 depending on open cl which is the higher score, but I have mine combined with 16gb of Geil Potenza EVO DDR4 2133, SSD and XFX R7 360 and MSI H110M Pro VD Plus! It is more than capable! One thing to note the score for the G3920 "Skylake" is higher than the G3930 "Kabylake" Celeron! But if you purchase this cpu and try to install on a H110 chipset you will need to upgrade the bios or it will not boot! That is why I had bought the Celeron, but local vendors like Bestbuy might be able to help upgrade it with a skylake cpu! But for the money I was impressed with benchmarks for the G3920 "Average" under $50! But the Pentium is awesome for many applications, It is near to an Oculus Spec Min, just under by a few points! The Oculus spec it is compared to is an I5 cpu and GTX 970!

My current build is a  3.0 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 CPU (which has been fine for my needs and is still running well, since 2008)  on a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R mobo, which is slowly dying and must be replaced.  I'm not into gaming, but I do manage a Web site with very heavy graphics.  I'd like to use the Intel G4620 Kaby Lake Dual-Core 3.7 GHz LGA 1151 as it will be a definite upgrade over my current CPU.  I'd appreciate suggestions for which current mobo and graphics card would be best to pair the GA 4620 with for my particular needs, keeping in mind price points in a range of $90 to $175 per item?

something with a 270 chipset will give you better upgrade options for the future. i found an msi mini itx board with wifi built in for $99. the h270i is what it's called. as for gpu's, I'd go with a 1050ti. I found an msi mini 1050ti for $140 it's got a decent cooling solution on board and 4gb of vram. keep in mind you may also need ddr4 memory for most mobos on this socket. chances are you're not running ddr4 in an e8400 machine. I recommend CMK8GX4M2A2400C14R 8gb of corsair mem, 2400mhz and a decent 14 cas can be had for less than $70. another thing worth thinking about, I'm trying to find out if this cpu is OPTANE compatible. the mobo I talked about is but I can't find anything about this cpu. it's not listed anywhere specifically, but optane should work with all 7th gen cpu's  this being a kaby lake core cpu leads me to believe it might work. it would be sweet if it does as for an additional $50 you can give any old hdd the boot up performance of a high end ssd.
