Does this unit come with a cooling fan or do I need to purchase that? And if so, what is compatible? I don't see any information about that on their product page.

It does come with the stock Intel fan which is more than good enough for most applications.

As for fitting an aftermarket fan, fans are matched only to the SOCKET, not specifically to the cpu.

So, any aftermarket fan made for you socket size will work.

Can this unit burn cd/dvd?

It's a processor. I can think of no reason that with a compatible motherboard, memory, etc and DVD writer drive, this should be used to build a computer which can burn DVDs.
