no... this processor is junk. For a ddr-4 capable processor, the processor is limited to 1866. DO NOT BUY!

Question 2

What memory is compatible with this processor.  I see that ddr4-1866 is stated on the spec sheet but I don't see any listed on Newegg. Does it have to be ecc?
Is there any memory on Newegg that will work with this processor?

The DDR4-1866 listed in the specs is the built-in memory of the CPU. As far as Memory Compatibility with a processor, there is no such thing. Memory Compatibility is only determined by the Motherboard specs. So refer to the Motherboard's Manufacture requirements. The Manufacture's Website should have a Memory Compatibility List for each Motherboard they make, which will include a list Tested memory Brands, Sizes and Part Numbers.

I am building a workstation for video editing and I was thinking about pairing this CPU with "ASUS X99-DELUXE/U3.1 LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99". does anyone have any suggestions? Is this ok or is there a better MB? I want to go with 64GB memory.

I built a workstation for video editing using this CPU with an Intel S2600CW2 MB. My system has 64GB Kingston memory (but will support up to 2TB and two Xeon E5-2630 v3 CPUs). I can't speak to the viability of pairing this CPU with any other MB, but I can say that a commitment from the MB manufacturer to support the configuration you choose should be considered mandatory. Do not commit to any configuration that the MB manufacturer is not willing to stand behind (especially with this processor) unless you are willing to accept the risk of scrapping the system. For video editing, make sure you qualify and accommodate both your add-in graphics card and an audio card. S2600CW2 provides neither and on this MB you only have two PCIe slots for CPU1.

what is the stepping number on this processor?

i think its a 100Mhz step so it runs at however high the multiplier is, on this one 24x i believe... don't quote me on that, havent checked my bios in quite some time, google doesn't have an answer?
