Pros: I am the technical support for a large corporation. We have been using ioGear long-range wireless keyboards in all of our conference and meeting rooms for the last 5 years and have had very good results. The range covers everything we have tried so far and our user community has not experienced any problems.
Cons: Sometimes users inadvertently turn off the keyboard and don't know how to turn it back on (but there are instructions printed on the keyboard... user error).
Overall Review: If you want long range and reliability, this is a good fit.
Pros: the key board works 20 feet away with no problems through my hallway. The mouse worked 26 feet away and the dongle was only 9 inches off the floor. in my computer cabinet I did no setup it just worked from those distances without tweaking or moving anything and I have many obstacles in the way. I tried other wireless setups and could not get them to work outside of the bedroom. The GkM552mr worked remarkably out of the box
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: I am elated at the performance of the keyboard and mouse. I have logitechs which I loved prior to getting the io gear I have used logitechs for over 10 years and i still love them but the io gear is on a higher level it responds immediately to the touch which the logitech does not come close to. I got used to logitechs responiveness but i was surprised to see how much faster the iogear was
Pros: Mouse is comfortable and works great. The range in my living room is 15' and works great for both the keyboard and mouse. They don't have to have a direct line-of-sight to the USB receiver either. I like how each is lightweight and the buttons on both work nice. Battery life seems pretty good too, at least with the mouse. Not sure about the keyboard for reasons noted below.
Cons: The first week of owning this, my roommate spilled his soda on the keyboard and it was ruined. Only two keys would work. The advertised "Spill-Resistant" on the box is bogus in this case. I looked inside the keyboard and multiple circuits were fried. Iogear customer service agreed to look at the keyboard as a replacement if I shipped the keyboard/mouse combo to them. The cost of shipping (each way) and no guarantee it would be replaced wasn't worth it since the overall price is $40 or less shipped most places. Iogear seemed helpful, but my falsely advertised keyboard never got replaced and they closed my warranty case in a few days, before I even made a decision on what to do. Not all their doing I'm stuck with a bunk keyboard, buying online and having a clumsy roommate are at fault as well.
Overall Review: Overall great product in my opinion for a HTPC. Just don't spill anything on your "spill resistant" keyboard.
Pros: 1. Being able to move keyboard and mouse about as I sit on the couch lazily = COMFORT FACTOR. 2. Simple to hook up. 3. Distance is not a problem.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: I'm happy that I no longer have to trip over any wires of a keyboard and mouse while accessing my computer from my couch.
Pros: Well, it does actually work provided you are not more than a few feet away from the PC.
Cons: Does not work as advertised.
Pros: It's wireless
Cons: There is no way they can seriously have "long range" in the product name. Not only is it NOT long range, it has the shortest range of any wireless ANYTHING I have ever owned. This seriously has about a 2-3 foot range. With that kind of range, what is even the point of it being wireless?? I have had wireless keyboard/mouse combos for half the price with 3 times the range. Not only that, this thing has a tremendous lag. It averages anywhere from 5 to 60 seconds. It always has a lag of about 60 seconds when first using it after not using it for a couple minutes (and no, NOT because the computer was in sleep mode). Then after the initial 60 second delay, it has on average a 5-20 second delay. You could type out a whole sentence with nothing on the screen. You type the sentence again with no avail. Then you just hit random keys trying to troubleshoot it and see what is going on. Then spontaneously, everything you had typed shows up on the screen.
Overall Review: This thing has to be the worst wireless/keyboard on the market. Do yourself a favor and get the ones that cost HALF as much and are THREE TIMES better. This thing is useless and is completely asinine that "long range" is in the product name! It's like the really fat guy going by "Tiny."
Pros: The mouse is just AMAZING.. It has great sensitivity, and it is super easy to switch between mouse speed. No software to worry with, which is good/bad. Nothing to program buttons on mouse besides 3rd party/Microsoft. At any rate, still very nice Mouse. Keyboard is slim, light, and quiet.
Cons: You might have noticed, there wasn't to much about the keyboard... There is a reason, unfortunately the keyboard's "Sleep" feature, might as well be called the "Coma" feature, because you will never wake this thing back up unless you remove and reenter the battery. I have contacted IOGear and they said they will replace the unit once the inventory with the new firmware comes in, and my only option for it right now is to suck it up, and pull push the battery every 15 minutes or so. It sucks that the keyboard brings it down two eggs, but it is half the purchase.. I dream one day that the "Inventory" shows up and I can send back this lazy keyboard, cause it is sleeping on the job severely.
Overall Review: Wish it has software to program buttons.
Pros: This is my 2nd iogear wireless keyboard. Both are great. Long battery life. Stands up to the abuse of my two and 5 year old kids.
Cons: None
