Question 1

I'm trying to set this up connected to a non smart tv and using my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0.  I can't get it to work.  I've tried Samsung Link (formerly all share) and the mirror settings in Settings don't recognize this.  Any advice out there?

I have the S4.  The instructions were not great, but I got it work.  Stay with the default "Mirror mode" on the Dongle.  On the Samsung S4, go to Settings / Connections / Screen mirroring.  It is not a speedy connection, but I have had streaming movies mirrored as long as the phone is relatively close to the Dongle.

This works great for showing pictures on the phone to the TV too.

The MiraDongle is compatible with any device that supports WiFi Direct, WiDi, or Miracast. All these names are aliases for WiFi Direct which is a limited peer to peer wifi connection. The phone, tablet, computer must support WiFi Direct in order to connect to the MiraDongle on the TV or display. Many newer 4.0+ Android phones and tablets support WiFi Direct.

iPhone 4+ supports Airplay which is not compatible with WiFi Direct. Windows 8.1 OS supports WFi Direct, but I do not know if the phone hardware supports it.

The image displayed will be a mirror of the source device display. The MiraDongle works great when you finally figure out the correct combination of devices and setup.

Anyone know if this will work with Amazon Kindle HD or HDX second screen feature?

Once you set up your streaming stick with your wifi network, connect your Note 4 to the wifi network and turn on screen mirroring from you drop down menu on your Note 4. It will prompt you to which device you want to connect with.

When you plugged it in the TV.  On screen you will see ID on the left and key symbol on the right with numbers: 12345678.  That is the password.

Is this MiraDongle compatible with my Dell Venue Pro 11 tablet running Windows 8.1?

Android version 4.2.x I believe supports it in the OS.  There is no special app needed unless their is one to toggle mirror / media mode.  You would have to see if windows 8.1 supports it natively otherwise you would have to check to see if their is a windows app that will communicate with it.  In Android, it's located in settings, display, wireless.  You may have something similar.

Product has not worked at all for me.  Purchased a firewire adapter cable and have had zero luck.  Very disappointed in this product.  Sitting here on my desk like a paperweigh
