One of the least expensive headsets on the market, this in the ear Jabra set makes a great head-set for first-timers. A lightweight 0.39 ounces, it has a lithium polymer battery for long life (seven hours talking, two hundred hours stand by), and fast re-charge times (two hours, typically).
It supports the Bluetooth headset and hands-free profiles for additional car safety. (Many states have made using a cellphone while driving illegal unless you use a hands-free device like this one.) The included optional earhook can make the headset even more secure if you like.
